What a show! Knives, saws, screws, chisels, hammers, etc. If I were living back in the day my living will would have been chock full of DNR's. Another interesting tour - an eye opener regarding US history in this case medical history as we know it.

We expected it to be just us walking around looking. When we paid this gentleman started telling us details and stories of every room. He was educational and funny at the same time. My son is 7 and normally at things like this he is bored but he loved it. We will be back the tour was great and the... More

Our guide did an excellent presentation and I wish I could remember her name. She injected just the right amount of light humor into an otherwise serious demonstration of surgical instruments and techniques used on soldiers way back before we had painkillers and antibiotics.

As a couple who comes regularly to St. Augustine, on this trip we wanted to see something we hadn't seen before. We read great reviews on Trip Advisor about this spot, and I agree with all of them. 😀 Located on Avilles St., ( the first street in America), you sense a quaintness and the history everywhere you look. From... More

As we walked around St. Augustine, we passed by this museum several times. We didn't know if it would be worth the money but we finally decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. We were able to learn a lot about medicine and surgical methods of that time period. Our 13... More

This was such a surprisingly amazing visit. It's very small and so you don't expect to be wowed, but we were. Incredible amount of information with a well lead tour by somebody who looked to be from that time period. The staff was very knowledgeable and fun. If I had the chance to go back I would most certainly do... More

This is both educational and amazing. This hospital had almost tipple the success curing patients as any other hospitals of the time. They will entertain you while you are learning things you may have never heard before. Worth the time, put this on your list of places to see.

Let me begin by saying that this amazing piece of history is NOT haunted but it is worth every penny to tour. Our guide was exceptional...she seemed almost as if she had wondered from the period. She taught us about herbs, medical procedures, religion, and more in less than an hour. My husband and I are both history nuts and... More

We toured this and had a very informative and entertaining time. Fascinating to see how advanced the Spanish were even back then. The guides were very knowledgable and engaging. We both enjoyed this a great deal.

Standing on the oldest street in the United States is the Old Spanish Military Hospital. We killed and hour by doing this $7 tour and although skeptical we may have been at first, we are glad we partook. Everything appeared authentic and the tour guide did such a great job explaining the surguries and cures of those days gone by.... More
