The museum is small (basically three rooms and a gift shop) and somewhat lacking in terms of artifacts and exhibits. I was expecting more visual information, signage, etc. to help inform and educate the visitor. Instead, the visitor has to rely primarily on the knowledge and story-telling skills of the Docent, who is available at the time. In our case,... More

This tour is ok. I felt it was over priced, but the history about doctors, education and licensing as well as the history of the hospital itself was interesting.

Me and my husband went to visit the museum paying almost $10 each, but it was not at all worth the price. The guide will just take u into the rooms (only 4 rooms) in a building which is converted into a hospital and explain the old medical techniques. We found nothing interesting there. Don't waste your money going there,... More

I brought my six year old son here, as part of a homeschool lesson on Florida history. It was a cold weekday afternoon, so we were the only visitors. I expected to see some interesting artifacts, and that was about it. It was much better than expected! When we arrived, we were given a sort of introductory tour before the... More

It's easy to walk past this museum, but it is really worth the visit. Exhibits show how Spanish physicians cared for the wounded, documented sickness, their surgical methods, and use of medicinal herbs. There's also a small herbal garden where visitors can see some of the plants used. Very interesting experience!

Being that my boyfriend is in medical school, I thought this would be a fun activity for him. We both really enjoyed the history of the hospital as well as the details they had in their facility. The tour guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. Great 30 minute tour!

We wandered in to this museum waiting for a trolley and got such a cool tour! Nick was dressed in period clothing and boy did he know his stuff. If he went back in time he could be a Doctor. The building is the original hospital building and outfitted with all the old instruments it would have had In it.... More

Just walking through this very well planned museum would not be nearly as interesting as being guided through by a knowledgeable docent. She brought each display to life and provided some "hands on" experiences which should appeal to children. She was able to field questions and was well prepared for her role. Hint: You will have a much more interesting... More

Very informative tour of the old hospital, with hands-on displays of equipment. It really brought to life doctoring through the ages and what medicines they had at their disposal, many of which we still use to today (the basic ingredients).

This was a gem off the beaten track. We had a private guide for our family of four, who was so knowledgable and engaging. She demonstrated some "instruments" medicines and took her time explaining small details. Highly recommend!
