It was really fun the tour guide Pearl was outstanding specially the way she stayed in character. It was amazing to be able to get in the cells and the kitchen.

What a wonderful glimpse back in time. The stories that were told really brought you back to the daily lives of both the inmates and guards. Very informative tour. Thank you!!

We received tickets to the Old Jail with our trolley ride purchase. This was a fun tour. The guide takes you around the outside, then inside, all while telling the story of how the jail came to be, telling you about the warden and the way of life for the inmates. The tour is not lengthy, but is packed with... More

Geared for younger folks, Old Jail (in “Old Town”, a collection of buildings that house Oldest Store Museum, Gator Bob's, and is a designated trolley stop) has hokey skits about life as it was in the authentic old jail. In olden days, jail was meant for punishment, not a means of getting free tattoos, weight lifting regime, and free court-appointed... More

Unbelievable conditions for the prisoners. Great staff and (true) storyTelling. Maybe we should go back to the good old days of the chain gangs.

At first I didn't know if it was worth the money or not but we had been given tickets so we went. We thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to go back with our kids some time.

This tour makes you appreciate that you were not a law breaker during that time period. Our guide, Deputy Clyde, did a great job explaining what we could expect as a prisoner. Conditions were grim. There was an interesting collection of firearms and other instruments used in crimes.

On a lark, we took a day tour here the last day we were in St Augustine (right after eating at our favorite place, Borrillos Pizza). The tour was short, thank goodness. It was guided by a male deputy. He was in character and played the part well, but this was one of the more cheesy/touristy things in St Augustine... More

I was sorry to read that your tour with us did not meet your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Please accept my sincere apologies for any narration issues. I really wasn't to sure if I would like this one, but I had a great time. The tour guide was fun and upbeat with a well presented story about the days and night of the inmates. It was cool the walk through and see the conditions they endured. Nothing like the modern amenities current lawbreakers are afforded.
