These old churches are beautiful--not built like this nowadays. Short, self-guided visit--easy to access, especially by trolley.

One of the most magnificent small churches in the US. Beautifully restored and open. Photos allowed in all but a few areas. Check the door for hours of services.

There is nothing more humbling than being in a beautiful Cathedral. So much to see, and say a prayer.

The Basilica Cathedral is one of the easiest and best attractions in St. Augustine. It's free and doesn't require a time commitment or appointment and one can make the visit as short or long as desired. The grand and elaborate furnishings are breathtaking; like most Catholic cathedrals, it is full of all the stations of the cross in paintings and... More

This cathedral has been restored to its original splendor. Every inch, inside and out, has been restored top to bottom. Gold leaf and stained glass windows are really beautiful

We attended Christmas Day Mass at the Cathedral. It is America's First Parish. Inside is breathtaking. The beauty of the cathedral immediately overtakes your senses. The organ, the choir, the priest - all were the highlight of our Christmas this year. It is open for casual touring when there is not a Mass. Put it on your list of things... More

Came here last year, only to find Cathedral closed for renovations. As first priority this year, I was not disappointed. A magnificent worship space was created. Attention to detail is impeccable. Despite a lot of people wandering around, a worshipful quite atmosphere prevailed. The interior is photo heaven. Absolute must see in St Augustine. Small adjacent shop has good assortment... More

Very beautiful. So calming and peaceful, a wonderful place to visit. Perhaps sit in prayer, or just take in the beautiful architecture.

We've had the privilege of visiting the Basilica every winter for years when we come to St Augustine. This year was special because of the lovely renovations in honor of last fall's 450th anniversary of the city. It continues to inspire a peace and faith filled time in our travels.
