We took an overnight trip to St. Augustine. It was the coldest day in Florida this season. We decided to make the best of it and visit Fort Menendez. It was really cool to see how the settlers lived! It is a smaller replica of how the fort looked, and was very interesting to see. We have a 3 yr... More

This was such a worthwhile place to visit & have children attend. The staff is very friendly. The activities were engaging & aligned wonderfully with our study of FL standards. The prices of items in the gift shop were reasonable!

I was unsure about visiting here. But we chanced it. I was amazed with out guide. He was full of life and kept the kids attention. There was a bunch of hands-on activities for the kids to participate in that brought the history even more alive. I would highly recommend this for bringing history to life!!

Fort Menendez Old Florida Museum is a sight not to be missed for school age children. Displays are hands on, educational, and entertaining. Our tour guide, Kathleen, provided a wealth of information. Not only did she focus on things that would interest our grandson, she was adept at ensuring that all the adults in our party were equally amazed. As... More

I really enjoyed this place, I love historic places and this is one you need to see, it is very interesting, they shoot a real canon, a great view, and you can walk around the outside of it free, I recommend you see it.

My husband and I visited Fort Menendez with 4 of our grandchildren. We had so much fun learning about the earlier cultures of the Tumucua Indians, the pioneers and Spanish colonial. We were each given a test sheet with questions and clues to seek out answers to help educate us during our tour. We learned so much about the early... More

We visited Fort Menendez with our 2 elementary school age daughters. We all learned a lot about colonial life in early St. Augustine and for the Indians including how the buildings were constructed, food made, fences built, candles made, etc. The best part is that the visitors can try all of these activities. Our daughters had a wonderful time and... More

Senior Armando, our tour guide was a delight! I never thought there was a minimum for the number of teeth a fighting man might need in the midst of Battle. Loved the hands on displays and games. It was very informative AND entertaining. I highly recommend it, especially for families. Hope to have grandkids to take here one day.
