When we purchased our tickets for the Train Tour we chose this as one of our attractions because my son was studying the Spanish explorer Pedro Menendez. The day we visited there were a couple of school groups but the manager made special arrangements for us to get a tour with a delightful guide. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made... More

I've been to Ft Menendez twice now and have had a great time there twice. You do need a good tour guide as it makes all the difference in your trip. The fort is meant to be interactive and something to spend your time playing old games, grinding corn, trying on equipment, dipping candles and learning about history. If you... More

We had a blast at Ft. Menendez! It was pretty slow when we went (3rd week of Feb) around 10:30am so it was pretty cool to be there pretty much by ourselves. My kids aged 15, 14 and 12 had a good time being soldiers and answering trivia questions for coins which they later used to buy stuff with at... More

As I believe a member of our group said .... The visit was awesome. Two of our party work for a very well known amusement park in Orlando and the guide "Armando" was so good at making us laugh. Two of the group are from England and they loved the interactive and fun way of taking in "New World" history.... More

I loved visiting St. Augustine. But, unfortunately, my first and last ever visit to Fort Menendez is clearly my worst experience at any attraction in Florida. We were received nicely, but there was no functioning guide, except a young woman that only wanted us out as soon as possible. After we paid the entrance fee, to this the tiny made... More

We found Fort Menendez fun and informative. We enjoyed every minute of it. Actually being a part of the settlement is an excellent teaching tool. Our favorite stop!!

I didn't find much fun or history at this location. For the admission paid, I've could have gone to another museum attraction. it was just boring

If you are an adult with no children, do not waste your time. This is the bottom of the barrel as far as attractions in the St Augustine area. We got in for nearly free, and we still felt like we paid too much As another reviewer stated, the staff was very nice and friendly. We actually felt bad that they... More

1bigchowhound, We're sorry Fort Menendez did not meet your expectations as a facility for both adults and children. We do try our best to accommodate everyone and we have had many adult visitors who have found our attraction both entertaining and informative. Our museum is constructed to imitate the atmosphere of Old St. Augustine only 20 years after its founding.... More

Even the teenagers had fun pretending to be guards and other historic workers. My 18 yr old daughter loved being the tribe leader and learning that in some cultures woman held high positions before women's lib.
