The fort is the highlight of the whole St. Augustine National Park experience. A knowledgeable ranger givng a historical timeline, plus volunteers masquerading as Spanish soldiers demonstrating arms, uniforms and equipment made for an enjoyable experience. The fort itself is fun to explore.

Spanish architecture and demonstration of fire power at the time. A nice park for viewing and picnicing.

We had an excellent time here! Its very hands on for the kids. Our boys (ages 8 and 9) had a great time. They got to do work that the families had to do back in the days, there were old style games to play. They had a blast. We spent over 2 hours enjoying the fun. Thankfully, the weather... More

This is one of those attractions where you can almost imagine yourself back in time. Great views from the top of the fort, also. At $7.00 admission per person, it is a good value for time spent.

This was an educational trip but was also really fun. It was our last stop on the first trip and a bit out of the way but we felt it was worth the detour.

This attraction is fine for the younger set. It's not a National Park Service level place but it does have some hands-on stuff that kids 12-and-under will enjoy. The docents make up in enthusiasm what they may lack in polish.

March 16-20th marks Brain Awareness Week (BAW) and my little guy who has a corpus callosum disorder along with other neurological impairments just returned from his first trip to Fort Menendez. Our guide, Maria, was not informed of his disability, but she quickly adapted to his speech delay and motor difficulties. When she saw he was having trouble coordinating his... More

This isn't a fast ride at Disney World. Anyone who enjoys history or touring Historical Sites will want to see the 'Fort'. Have visited Fort Menendez on many occasions since the late 1960's and never tire of walking through this old Spanish Fort. This is the focal point which guarded St. Augustine when it was first formed and was a... More

Exactly what I expected it to be. My kids however loved every second of it. May not have much reason to return but a must see at least once.

In the past when I've done tours such as these I usually find myself bored to tears. However, this place definitely caught my attention and held it the entire time I was there. My tour guide, Kathy, really loved her work and it showed. She was very interactive with all of us and we just had a blast. The rest... More
