We arrived late and missed the last ferry to the tiny fort. We were very glad that we did not just drove on. We took a leisure walk around the property and look at what we've found in the back of the visitor building!

Fun and basically free. Lots of history and nice little fairy ride. In the rest of the park there are some nice trails and a picnic area as well.

Be sure to get your free ferry ticket as soon as you get there, otherwise you could be left hanging around a while. It was definitely worth the trip. We learned a lot from the video and the guide at the fort.

Do not miss this attraction! I am so glad i went. It is about 20 minutes south of St Augustine and you'll think at first you are not headed to the right place, since the Internets say this is part of the St Augustine ancient fort defense system. But keep going... You have to take a boat to get to... More

We have been here twice to just go to the beach area of the Matanzas inlet beach area. Its one of the top two beaches in the whole area and it appears we aren't alone in thinking that as the parking lot was full. BUT this beach is so big it was not crowded at all... The beach was wide... More

We learned so much during our visit! The most wonderful tour guides work here! The free ferry ride from the park to the monument was fun! I wish we could have stayed longer before getting back on the boat!

Free short boat ride to the fort. I very informed ranger that loved to give the history of the fort.

Ferry fills up quickly we didn't cross this time because we were late and didn't want to wait another hour, but the trails are fun to walk and the view of the fort across the waterway is beautiful. In the middle of the parking is a lot of big trees that the kid enjoyed climbing in and goofing off with... More

Quick visit but worth the trip. Get there at least 1/2 hour before boat leaves because there are limited seats for each hourly crossing. There are two boats transporting visitors except at the 11:30 slot. Beautiful views and lots of marine life.

Get to the park early to get your free boat passes. The boat only holds about 30 people and sometimes they have cancelled a run so there are more people than passes. I think that when it is busy they have two boats but we only saw one. Plan on about 1 hour at the fort. We carried over a... More
