Our visit started with a walk along their nature trail - short but interesting. Then we took the ferry over to the fort. It was a short but free ride. The park ranger did an excellent job of explaining the history of the place. After you are done at this monument, don't miss going across the street to the beach... More

What an interesting fort. You take a boat ride of about 5-6 minutes to a little piece of land that the Fort sits on. A ranger gives a talk about the area and the Fort. You are then able to explore the very small fort and area and climb up into the Fort. There are 2 original cannons at the... More

Free admission, clean restrooms, picnic area, boat ride, nature, wildlife, walk to fab beach. Located quite a ways from the city, so a bit of a drive.

This is a free boat ride to an old fort with knowledgeable guides. What could be better than that? If you are staying at or passing through south St. Augustine, You should visit this park and go on the tour. It is very well preserved with old cannons and you really get a sense of what life was like for... More

March 16-20th marks Brain Awareness Week (BAW) and my little guy who has a corpus callosum disorder along with other neurological impairments just returned from his first trip to Fort Mantanzas. Our kiddo loved the ferry ride. The stairs were steep leading to the fort, but had treads on them. There were some uneven areas that were not marked, so we had... More

If you are into old stone forts and the early development of this country then this monument is for you. It is a short under 5 minuet small shuttle boat ride from the NPS dock to the fort. The ranger gives the group a guided tour and background of how the fort was constructed and defended and why it was... More

Worth the visit. Ferry ride over to the island to the old Fort. Once there you get info on Fort and then you get to go inside. I go more then once a year. Everyone young and old will enjoy it. It is free but you can donate something if you wish.
