Took our grandson there, it was nice. Enjoed the cannons going off and the history behind many of the signs.

You cannot go to St Augustine without touring the fort. Massive amounts of history to absorb especially if you go when they are doing a reenactment and firing the cannons. Awesome views of the river and places all around to picnic. Great school outing.

This was the first time my husband & I went to see fort Matanzas National Monument. It was well worth our time, plus it's free. You only need to stop at the visitors center for a boarding ticket. The park rangers operate the ferry & give a very educational history lesson of the fort once you are over there. Then... More

How can one not like a pontoon boat ride with Dolphins swimming lazily next to the boat. Just a short ride to an interesting fort that played a large part in the history of St. Augustine. Rangers are informative and entertaining.

This fort is free and the boat ride over is nice and peaceful. The guides do a wonderful job explaining the history of the fort and there is a wonderful view from... More

Gorgeous park, free to the public, with fantastic re-enactments that bring history to life. One of the better historic monuments in the oldest city. I prefer it to the Castillo.

I was so disappointed in the park ranger at Fort Matanzas. She was rude, inconsiderate and made the entire visit a waste of time. My mom & I are some of the friendliest people on the face of the earth and get along with most anyone...except this woman. I have traveled to most every National Park and by far, this... More

History history ! This is all part of beautiful Florida history . This Fort was built on Mantanzas inlet and served as a look out for the Fort in St.Augustine .It can only be reached by boat , which the park provides .There are a few hiking trails as while .
