I went, because of the high ratings here. And it was okay. It was a nice drive down the A1A. The rangers were helpful. The boatride was nice. And the tour only lasted 45 minutes. But otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way for this stop. The history was nice. But not sure it's worth the drive. More

I went to see the fort years ago and there was nothing to see then. Well since its been quite a few years (16). We thought we would check it out again. Still nothing to see. A bunch of empty concrete rooms. It is a total rip off. They charge $7 per adult and you can come back anytime over... More

Explore a small fort and experience what what the men that occupied it did. Imagine being fired apon by the enemy or firing apon a intruder with a black powder cannon. More

This was a very inormative tour of the history of FL. The view from the top of the fort was great. More

This National Park is by donation only and if you go please make sure you donate at least something. I went twice while on vaction. My host from the area brought me here once and I in turn brought friends from Jacksonville here. The park rangers give you a history about the fort and you get a ferry ride from... More

From Anastasia inn to fort Matanza was about 25 mins and it's worth it, you can think of doing a picnic out there, you can even think of taking your fishing poles for simple hobby fishing ( don't depend on dinner:) a very nice trail. Every hour for ferry. Free, fun and educational. More

I've been to St. Augustine many times before but never visited this Fort. I was so happy I took the time this trip. It's only about a 20-30 minute drive from the historic district. When you get there you take a ferry to the fort (quick 5 minute ferry ride) and the tour guide tells you about the fort. The... More

Interesting but not much to it. Still it's part of the area history. Unless you are on a history field trip I'd skip this one. More
