On the final day of our St. Augustine trip one of the sites we visited was the oldest house. Located in the heart of the old city, it sits on beautiful grounds surrounded by culture and history. Right next to the house is a very informative and interesting museum which explains a lot about the house's story. Our tour guide... more

Our visit to the Oldest House exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide did a great job explaining the history of the house and how its growth & change was shaped by the history of the town of St. Augustine. If you are looking to learn about an interesting piece of American history, I would recommend stopping by the Oldest House. more

My husband and I visited last week and were pleasantly surprised. I was feeling a bit "toured out" and was a little disappointed to learn there would be yet another tour. This tour was fun though. The guide was informative and laid back. What he had to say was interesting and the tour didn't last very long which was nice.... more

Very interesting place. Beautiful garden and a lovely piece of history. The museum showed a very detailed view of history of the area. Our only complaint was our tourguide. I don't remember his name, but it was a young college-age kid who could not have been less enthusiastic about his job. Totally acted like he didn't want to be there.... more

The tour was thoroughly presented and the staff were helpful. It's amazing to step in to a house with so much history and past. I recommend this to everyone. The grounds are well-kept. The house is as it once was! more

My first moment here was great as the facility kindly honored my "two-for-one" coupon letting me in for half price since I was alone. The docent tour was a small group -- just me! The grounds are very pretty and relaxing; the house really makes you aware of the different groups that have held St. Augustine as different parts of... more

This was a very pleasant stop on our tour of St. Augustine. Worth the visit -- gave good insight into area during that time period. It was not overly crowded and our guide was informative and not in a rush which was important to us. more

This might not be on your first list of things to see and do, but it is something one ought to experience. Our guide was very informative. She explained the house and why it was like it was and gave the uses during the different periods of history. I was really glad I went on this tour. more

The house is not actually the oldest house in America - just the oldest house in Florida. Of course they don't tell you that until after the tour starts! Our guide walked around with a coke can in her hand the entire time and seemed more interested in her break than showing us around. The house itself is rather small... more
