I'll admit that I didn't read everything, because it was hot and I got cranky. But my husband checked it all out, and even watched the cannon demonstration. This is a neat place to visit---it was interesting to learn how/why the fort was built and how it operated. Great views. Nice enough restrooms. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been to this fort a few times before and never get tired of visiting. An impressive structure and well kept by both the park rangers and "soldiers" who fire the cannons for visitors. Wonderful place- worth the visit.

Who doesn't like to explore a fort? If you say, not me, does it help to know that this for is the oldest concrete reinforced structure in the US? It has lush green grounds, excellent views, canon demonstrations by employees authentically dressed in 18th century garbs. The rangers on-site know their history and the exhibits and signage offers a lot.... More

As with all of St Augustine, this sturdy establishment is one of city's grand markers of history. Go on your own or listen to a tour, this fort has many stories to tell.

I think it's mostly a reconstruction, but it's in a striking location, and it does a great job of getting across the history of St. Augustine,

Loved the history, yet would like more. Unfortunately this park is heavily impacted by hundreds of thousands of visitors yet does not get any federal support. Thankfully the volunteers make this a very special place to visit. Any conversations with the heavily burdened staff have been wonderful. Wish we as the American public could preserve and augment this place in... More

I loved visiting the Castillo de San Marcos! So much history and so wonderfully presented. Yes, I am a history buff/nerd, but even for the casual fan of history, this is a must visit. Priced at $7 per person, with children under 16 free. What a value!

I am a history buff so this was a treat for me. Watched the re-enactors fire their guns and toured the fort. Amazing that it was actually lived in.
