This fort is fascinating. So much happened in this place it is a bit overwhelming. The exhibits are well organized to give you a brief idea how the various nations came to occupy the unique old fort. The views of the water are great too. I highly recommend a visit.

A must see if you are in St. Augustine. What a fun way to learn so much about the area history. We enjoyed everything about our visit to this landmark. The staff are so knowledgeable, very caring about the preservation of the site, and so informative. The 'guided tour' that was offered during our visit was actually not a walking... More

The Castillo de San Marcos is a well preserved fort. The National Park Service has done an incredible job of telling the story of this Spanish fort and its importance to Florida's history and to our national history. It is a must see when visiting St. Augustine.

You cannot visit without a stop here. With great views, loads of history and demostrations. The parking lot is small and would recommend using the the trolley to get there. Explore the fort inside and out. Kids love to explore and pretend with this great treasure.

We enjoyed a leisurely self directed tour with attendants dressed in period clothing to give extra information stationed at several locations. Watching the re-enactment of the cannon firing drill was very enlightening & entertaining.

this place has a serious bee infestation! As we meandered along the outer wall facing the ocean, I didn't pay much attention to the scads of insects buzzing around on the ground, as they were careful to remain one step ahead of my foot falls. At about the same time I came to the realization that these were no flies,... More

This place is very impressive. The amount of history is mind blowing. We had a great time exploring around and listening to the park rangers tell the story of the castillo. Once you buy your tickets you can actually go back in for a whole week so we ended up going back the next day to watch the weapons demonstration... More

Okay, so I'm NOT the history buff, my significant other is, but this was so enjoyable. When I think of how people traveled across the ocean, landed here and built this fortress.......wow! I am so amazed. The views from the top were AMAZING! Gorgeous, even on a cloudy day!

We are both history buffs and were excited to visit this particular site. It was worth the time and money. The exhibits were exceptional and the demonstrations were awesome, especially the firing of the cannons! A great day.
