We had a great time at the Castillo. Lots to see and find out about. We were there when they fired the cannon (really loud, make sure you cover your ears) which made the history of the castillo and what happened really come alive. Great for kids or adults.

The oldest stone fort in the oldest city in the U.S., this is a "must see" when visiting Saint Augustine. So much history - so well preserved. Plan at least an hour and perhaps more to tour and read about the history of the Castillo de San Marcos. Beautiful view of the bay - fascinating structure.

The fort is beautiful and pretty large in the way of us military forts. On weekends you can see the cannons demonstrated, last firing is at 3pm. I do wish they'd have more staged rooms, most are empty. Views of the bay, cross, and lighthouse make for great photos.

Enjoyed learning the history of this old fort. St Augustine is the oldest city in the nation. I recommend visiting this fort and learn some history of this beautiful city.

Very interesting Spanish fort. I loved it. Lots of old cannons and history. The craftsmanship of the fort's construction is awesome. Hard to imagine how this was done.

Make sure you don't miss the reenactment of the soldiers firing the canon across the intercostal. This is the 450th anniversary of St. Augustine so check for special events.

This was fascinating for me because I'd always been taught that the Pilgrims began everything in America in 1620. The Castillo de San Marcos and St. Augustine show that American History began even before that. The fort is wonderful. Great for a history buff like me and the views up above are incredible. Well, well, worth the visit.

I went here with my sisters and it was pretty interesting, but very hot even in march. I was impressed with the over all structure and how it has lasted. The inside rooms were shady and the old drawings on the walls were very interesting, but very crowded with lots of people. There was a military discount but none for Florida... More

This is an interesting place to visit.its hard to believe how old it is and the history of why this fort was built. Saint Augustine is celebrating its 450 th birthday this year and this fort is one of the many historical sites you will not see anywhere else. The location alone is fantastic for great pictures.

Beautiful view of the bay. Can walk from room to room and read plaques . Have a live canon fire few times a day. Nice grounds. Spent couple of hours there.
