Talk to people, they have amazing stories. The History of this town is NOT being taught!! Catholicism started here.. People were killed for being Catholic

We were glad to have the opportunity to see this wonderful place, so steeped in rich historic character. If St Augustine is on one's travel agenda ( which it definitely should be ), Castillo de San Marcos is a "must see"! ;) Admission fee is reasonable. Early arrival is recommended, to ensure a good parking space.

The National park service does an excellent job with this fort. Excellent historical exhibits in the interior rooms on the ground floor and beautiful views and lots of cannons on the upper level. Park service guide talks are great as is the firing of the cannons. It can get get quite hot on a sunny day as there is little... More

The fort is a smaller Spanish fortification, but decently preserved and worth seeing. The US Park Service went overboard and lost the real sense of the fort.

Visited the Castillo de San Marcos in Saint Augustine Florida. The old fort offers an historic perspective of the early settlement in Florida that everyone should find interesting.

The fort is so interesting. You can go at your own pace or join a tour. Don't miss the cannons being fired.

It was a great experience, being a Disabled Veteran, my family and I entered free, and we heard the Park Rangers tours and speeches about the cannons & material the fort is made up from.

This castle is a great way to spend 1-2 hours. Make sure you go upstairs and check out the views and the old cannons. Parking can be full and you may have to park 3-6 blocks away if no parking available at the castle

This is worth seeing on your trip to St. Augustine. The Fort is awesome in it's build design and graffiti on the walls from 200 years ago. It is quite hot and humid, so visit early in the morning or late afternoon.
