Try to get there when there's an actual tour- showing yourself around means you miss a lot. The walk on the gun deck gives beautiful views of the harbor. The grounds outside the fort look nice for a lunch or early dinner picnic

It is the centerpiece of this historic city.It is worth the fee to visit the inside of the fort. The park rangers here are extremely knowledgable about the history.Stay around to watch the canon being fired! Living history to be is covered.

Been here several times since childhood. Still lovevit. The new info signs & exhibits make it easy to go at ur own pace. Even the teenagers liked it & the firing of the canon. Costumed volunteers made it feel even more interesting

Visited on a beautiful January afternoon. The fort itself isn't very big, and should be easy for most visitors to navigate. We were able to use our annual National Parks pass for entrance, so didn't have to pay the entry fee. There's a few cannon demonstrations throughout the day, we were fortunate to arrive right before it went off. They... More

We were there very early in the day. The Park Rangers were WONDERFUL!!! There was period dress as well as flute players. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable about the Castillo and related history. Very well maintained. A valuable piece of history.

This fort was built to last and has seen many battles. The history of the fort - including what it took to build it (including what they paid the workers - which seemed like a lot for the time), the number of workers is extremely interesting. There is plenty of information for a self-guided tour - plan to spend some... More

This is an exceptionally well preserved and restored Spanish fort on the waterfront in St. Augustine. We paid for parking in a metered lot but our senior pass affords free admission. None the less it would have been worth the $7.00. Much to see inside and out. If you like old forts, give this one and hour or two. I... More

The outside of this attraction is very nice. But, the money you spend for what we saw was not worth it. Nothing spectacular except the view. Wouldn't go again.

a ticket is $7 and it's good for 7 days. if you're in st augustine for a few days, definitely worth it. not a lot of shade at the fort. if you're going in a warmer month- hat and sunscreen are a must. there are stairs to the top of the fort wall- they're about 6inches high and there are... More

We didn't have time for a formal tour, but went around on our own and looked at the fort. Computer generated drawings in the rooms showed what it use to look like, which was a nice twist compared to Fort Clinch.
