The first time we saw the lighthouse was late at night, shing it's brilliant beacon. We toured lighthouse and the keeper's house, and it was informative and fun. Be prepraed to wear your walking shoes...it's 219 steps to the top of thr 165' edifice, the 10th largest in the United States. more

We had the $9/person and an hour to kill, so we went to the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The admission includes an Audio Tour and they've got about 20 numbered signs around the place that will tell you different things about the stuff along the way. The rooms of the keeper's house are a museum of the history of the Lighthouse... more

219 steps go by quickly--it sounds worse than what it actually is. Beautiful breeze throughout the tower. Great views from the top. They have done a wonderful job in preserving the area and reconstructing the keepers house that had been vandalized and burned. It is worth the 8 dollars for a trip back in time, knowing that this money goes... more

Ok I am out of shape and this was a long climb, they have landings where you can catch your breath. As you go up there are windows some open with a really nice breeze that can be felt. You can get amazing pictures from each stop. 219 steps each way, so worth the climb. You get amazing views from... more

This is the 2nd Lighthouse I have enjoyed in my travels. I enjoyed this immensely AND I'm afraid of heights! I took a bottled water and took my time climbing (even though I consider myself fit). Both my husband and myself enjoyed this! more

I wouldn't label this a must see, as in you can't go to St. Augustine and not go here. However, if you're not content laying on the beach all day and want to do some exploring I would definatly go to the light house. I loved it from a photographers view point, plus I love heights and the view was... more

Don't let a physical handicap stop you from visiting the lighthouse. I am in a wheelchair so I was unable to make the climb but my husband and 3 children walked up to the top. The pictures were amazing. You can see miles on a clear day. Since I couldn't tour the whole lighthouse, they kindly let me in free.... more

The website showed the lighthouse as being $7 but when we got there it ended up being $9. It was not worth the price, but I guess they need money to maintain the lighthouse and keep the unfriendly employee that works in the gift shop. more
