One of the larger lights on the Atlantic coast. It's a long climb to the top, but the views weren't bad. We learned about the life of a light keeper. The lighthouse is a definite must if you are visiting the St. Augustine area. It is full of so much history and the 219 stairs that you climb to the top, is well worth the view of the city. More

This lighthouse is well kept. Lighthouse is surronded by lots of trees so getting the perfect shot is difficult. You have to pay admission fee even if you don't plan on walking up the lighthouse. Initially, we thought we were paying a lot just to climb to the top of a lighthouse. After arriving, experiencing the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and browsing the engaging exhibits, we were very glad we came. Our kids from 15 to 8 really enjoyed it as well. Good job preserving history. Beautiful gardens as well. More
