Climb 214 steps to the top of the 1875 Lighthouse for a wonderful view of Saint Augustine and the wide, sandy Beaches. Visit the historic keepers' house to see the home of Major William Harn from Philadelphia. Harn commanded his own artillery battery at the Battle of Gettysburg. Walk around the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program Boatworks and boat yard to see small craft under construction and view artifacts from shipwrecks just off shore. Play in our pirate ship play area if you are too small to climb. You can find the many discount coupons in local tour maps and magazine before you come, and when you arrive, ask for the free audio tour, which is available in English and Spanish, and is free with every admission. Great old lighthouse and grounds. Extremely well-maintained with wonderful spiral stairway to the top. Great work-out if you climb to the top (I wimped out unfortunately). Good picture though.

Not much of a museum, but the view from the top of the lighthouse is beautiful! Be prepared... 219 steps!

Enjoyed this lighthouse a lot and the museum part is a very nice educational experience. If you have difficulty climbing stairs or not in shape then perhaps you should give serious thought to whether you wish to try and make it to the top of the lighthouse. It can be strenuous for those folks out of shape and fun for... More

The views are worth the climb. Many of the coupon books have a coupon for discounted entrance fees. This lighthouse is well maintained and worth the trip.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum is a scenic spot not to be missed. The lighthouse itself is so pretty, vibrantly painted in red, black, and white with spectacular views. The internal stair spiral is intriguing and will have most visitors stopping to snap a photo or two. The climb is not bad, it's very safe at the top, and... More

it takes 219 stairs to climb so be ready!! The grounds are nice and the view is worth the climb. The admission is a little pricey but worth a look.

We found the Lighthouse & Museum right across the bridge from downtown. It was a beautiful day offering lots of photo opportunities. The trip to the top of the Lighthouse was worth the panoramic view. There is a booklet provided that explains about the workings of the Lighthouse and it's past, so you walk around at your own pace learning... More

We make a point to visit lighthouses to add to our collection of pictures; most lighthouses offer a good seaside view. This one is different, build well inland, and surrounded by massive live oaks. The views are at the top of the tower, which is quite a climb! Both the tower and the light keeper's quarters are well kept, and... More

Not much to say about this other than very unique, educational, and relaxing. Just walked and mosey about, look at things, read interesting info, and appreciate the beauty of history and what used to be. I've been twice already!

I like lighthouses and make a point of visiting them when I can on vacation. This was a good height and informative too. It was a beautiful view of the area as well. It was a bit windy, but the experience was worth the exercise. There was also a shrimp boat museum and a keeper house museum to visit as... More
