Now before I begin...keep in mind it's a LONG hike to the top of the lighthouse. But with that being said it's worth every step. It's full of history and cool artifacts to see. You'll love this place and the view is second to none.

On our family vacation, 6 adults and 5 children- we tried to visit to the lighthouse and it ended up ruining our whole morning. The staff was completely unhelpful- and rude while trying to buy tickets and get the children into the play park. If you have children then you know it can be very difficult with them in stores---... Very interesting place. The working lighthouse offers beautiful views of the city and surrounding area. Very informative tour. There are also ghost tours at night since the lighthouse is believed to be haunted, like so many places in St. Augustine. You can tour the lighthouse and grounds and/or you can up inside the structure. Lighthouses are kind of cool, and... More

This lighthouse is visible from every location of the city. Stately and strong, you can walk around the grounds and the lightkeepers house for a small fee. It is full of historical artifacts and information. It offers a lovely garden pathway with resting benches an a children's play area. A special surprise is a convex mirror to to used to... More

This was definitely the highlight of our trip to St. Augustine! Both of our children had learned all about the lighthouse in 4th grade so it was fun to see it in person. The climb up was much easier than we anticipated and there are benches at most levels to sit down and take a break if necessary. The view... More

If you are a hardy soul, take the climb to the top! It is 219 steps, well worth it! We booked a private tour of behind the scenes of the lighthouse. Highly recommended. We were able to watch 2 scientists clean artifacts unearthed from a shipwreck there. Loved it!!!

The staff is very friendly and eager to engage in conversation with any questions you may have. Grounds are very clean and lots of water available if you go during the hot time of day in the summer. Beautiful view from the top!!

Loved it. I have visited a couple times. Nice upkeep of the lighthouse, keepers house and the store area. One of my favorite places to see in St. Augustine. Maybe someday after retirement I will live closer.
