Definitely worth it to walk up the lighthouse. The exercise was great and the view was beautiful!! Maybe don't wear flip flops as I was worried the whole way down I may lose one!!

Climbing the lighthouse consists of 219 steps up to the platform where you get a great view of the St Augustine and ocean area. There is a museum there that includes some items from the original lighthouse. The story of the lighthouse and its first keeper. Nice grounds to explore and time to watch boatmakers working on two wooden boats.

My family really enjoyed this lighthouse. I'm terrified of heights so I was not able to make it to the top, however, the rest of my family did. They loved the views and said it was definitely worth the walk up. The lighthouse and surrounding grounds are in good condition and there are a few nice nature walks that we... More

Visited during the MLK holiday weekend. There was a fee of $19 for 2 to climb the lighthouse. It wasn’t overly crowded, however, just a few people can fit comfortably at the top of the lighthouse. The stairs are narrow, so there’s only room for one way traffic. If you are going up and someone is coming down, it gives... More

Pretty interesting tour, scary walk up to the top of the tower. Must admit I was creeped out a few time. Guides are great. We have a wonderful time.

We did not take a paid tour. We only showed ourselves around. The grounds are well kempt and the provided map was easily followed. There were many exhibits that we were about view and a guide at the top of the light house provided additional information and history. The gift shop is also well managed. All staff was extremely friendly.

We made the 219 stairs to the top - buy the package that gets you a tee shirt - it is a good deal. The staff were very informative with the historic information. There were shipbuilders on-site building replica boats - that was interesting as well and the shipbuilders were willing to take the time to discuss their craft.

Gift shop is nice. 219 steps to the top and worth everyone! Make sure you bring your camera. After that it was to the house that had information and history. I would absolutely go again!

We went here thinking we were going to spend 30 minutes and go up to the top/walk around. It is 10$ for adults for admission which would have worked out to about 1 dollar a minute so we passed. To us the cost was not justified. It is a lighthouse with a view. I don't care about who use to... More

The tour of the grounds and buildings give you information that allows you to get a feeling for the people that lived there and what they did.A climb up the lighthouse stairs to the top and have the attendant take your picture to prove you made it!
