Description: Change your view of history at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum...
Change your view of history at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum. Enjoy the most breathtaking view in Northeast Florida from the top of our 165 ft. Tall lighthouse tower, built between 1871 and 1874. Visit the historic Victorian-era keepers' house to experience what life was like for the lighthouse keepers and their families. Kids will love exploring the shipyard playground and shaded maritime hammock nature trails. Discover the stories of ancient shipwrecks with our underwater archaeology team on a special guided tour. Or, if you're brave enough, try a Dark of the Moon paranormal tour of the lighthouse after hours! Snacks are available in the keepers' cafe and you can't leave without grabbing a souvenir in our gift shop. For discounts on tours and purchases, ask about our museum memberships!

Great but i think it is under construction.

Double check that it is currently available for viewing. O drove past there today (4-17-2015) and it was open but had a "under construction"sign.

the inkeepers house provided a group experience where we all heard the old Victoria turn but above that a few of us were lucky enough to see the apparition of a young girl leaning over it that others did not see. Then I saw shadow man in the tower while in there alone except for someone near the top taking... More

This was one of those things I have always wanted to do but never got around to it when visiting towns that had lighthouses. This has some great historical artifacts, a nice gift shop with reasonable prices. I just wish that it would have stated that we could not take an infant up the lighthouse with us because we could... We have gone two years in a row and intend on returning next year. The tour is so much fun and the history is interesting. The tour guide Matt is awesome (: even when the tower was closed we still had an awesome adventure.

We purchased a year membership since we planned on coming at least twice, and we wanted to support the lighthouse. The light house is a neat trip up the 215 stairs. They give you a handout to learn things along the way from the grounds to the work house, to the levels of the light house. It was very interesting.... More

St Augustine Lighthouse is a big one. 165 feet tall and 219 steps to the top. But that what makes it so cool, once you reach the top the views in all directions are incredible. And the museum and all the cool lighthouse information is fantastic for anyone that likes lighthouses. The lighthouse is still being worked on but the... More

This was a must on my visit to St. Augustine. Took the behind the scenes tour and it was great. Alot of information not only of the Lighthouse and keepers but on what they do there for conservation on shipwrecks and boat building. Had to take the the stairs to get to the top was well worth it. Views were... More
