The park is very nice and easily reached by kayak, paddle board or boat. They have some places to purchase food and to camp and cook out. The down side is that right now they are dredging the area so lots of construction type boats and pipes in the water.

I went solo just to see what was going on at this interesting hunk of sand in the middle of the Lake Worth Lagoon/intracoastal waterway. It was well worth the visit, although I didn't realize that the JFK Bunker and Museum is only open--at least at this time of year--Thursday-Sunday, so unfortunately I didn't get to explore them. The park... More

Great day at Peanut Island ! We took Capt Joe's Water Taxi $10 round trip pp. Its a 10 minute boat ride from Riviera Beach Marina! We stayed about 4 hours, bring a picnic lunch & cooler, they frown on alcohol and you are not supposed to bring it on the island. Be sure to walk around the entire island... More

Me and my friends both got bacterial infections swimming here. Granted this all depends on the water movement of the bay, sea ph and so forth. But the public bathroom has its sewage sent to where you swim and I believe that is what happened to us.

First, I would like to personally thank you for visiting Peanut Island and for taking the time to review your experiences during your visit. The island is known for being surrounded by crystal-clear blue water, and I apologize that your visit occurred on a day that the water might not have been up to normal expectations. Water quality and clarity... More

What a neat place nestled among such a busy area. I liked the quick taxi ride over but I did find it a bit expensive for such a short trip. The island was clean and the water calm and warm. Lots of benches to sit on and picnic benches to dine on. Bathrooms were clean. We did not visit the... More

We kayaked here from Riviera Beach. You can also take a water taxi. There are bathrooms, picnic tables, and an awesome walking path. This is a great alternative to an ocean beach day.

Wonderful day trip for family and adults. Beach and snorkeling is fantastic. The place seems like a remote island and it kind of is. However it's a 20 minute enjoyable boat ride from Palm Beach. Pack a cooler and food for the day so you can sit back and enjoy the sun. Suggestion go away from the dock area and... More

Despite the less than ideal January weather, the Gulf Stream brought many little fishes to Peanut Island Reef at high tide. (High tide is key here!) Even in early January with a wind, the water was calm and warm enough for a nice swim and good fish viewing. High point of our trip to the region in the unseasonably wet... More

We recently visited the Island. It offers a fun day of snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, and hiking. It is not far from the mainland and you can return throughout the day. We used Captain Joe's Ferry which we enjoyed!
