We rented kayaks from Get Wet Water Sports right over the bridge from Palm shores and kayaked over to peanut island. Took about 15 minutes. This man made island has flat crystal clear water perfect for the kids to snorkel right off the beach. The kids said the snorkeling was better than the keys. I think they are getting spoiled.... We kayaked over to the island with our kids, explored the island and the JFK bunker. Packed a picnic lunch, had a great day!

Great snorkeling off shore as there are underwater rocks where fish congregate. There were some jellyfish when we were there, but they did not bother us. One woman on our boat got stung, but she said it did not hurt or itch. We took a sailboat "snorkeling" charter, which took us to Peanut Island. If you plan to visit the... More

A nice half-day trip from Singer Island (Palm Beach Shores). $12 pp water taxi from Sailfish Marina delivers travelers to Peanut Island in minutes. This man-made island features white sand beaches, beautiful picnic groves, (a campground that we did not visit), and JFK's bunker (entry fee). A lovely snorkeling area is only 400 meters from the water taxi drop-off point.... More

We kayaked out and enjoyed the time. The day we went the waters were calm and light breeze. Water was nice. We have seen it very crowded on weekends.

Saw baby squid, cuddle fish a yellow sting ray in the lagoon and lots of tropical fish. You can only get to it by boat, kayak, etc. no restaurants on the island. Haven't been to the bunker yet. Saving that for our next trip. Nice family place.

I did not enjoy this trip. I took a ferry over to the island. It was a long wait and hot. The kids liked the area with the hundreds of small fish swimming in the water. We went to the gift shop and it was comically overpriced.

A little boring waiting for water taxi's. Not much to do there. worth a visit I guess. Boat operators not real friendly or talkative.
