Drove by and stopped to stretch our legs and what a treat! Drove less than a mile, parked the car and just took in the scenery. Saw panther tracks by the water. No noice, just the sound of birds. Go there!

As visiting birders, my husband and I added this location to our list of birding hotspots for our trip to the central coast of west Florida. In particular, we wanted to add the Red-cockaded Woodpecker to our life list. The fee for entering was only $3 for the day, and the staff members were very helpful in answering our questions.... This wilderness area is rather primitive, yet offers a fair amount of activities. We explored a few fishing areas and the shooting range. Facilities are somewhat sparse/primitive, yet sufficient for those who want to 'rough it.'

The history of the property and the wildlife we spotted was well worth the trip. We got lucky and purchased our trip with a Groupon. The staff is outstanding. It is a don't miss experience.

I go for the shooting range. It is clean and well maintained, also has restroom facility. No ammunition or targets sold. Suggest going early during week.

For the outdoorsman, this place has it all. Primitive camping next to the main lake and overflow area next to I-75. I use the shooting range often and it's a VERY popular attraction, even on weekdays so be forewarned, you may have to wait to get a spot. Has three trap/skeet/clays positions but bring your own equipment. The Rangers take... More

One of the few Florida Wildlife Management areas that offers camping. Tons of fishing and hunting available. Lots of swamp land so you will see swamp buggies everywhere. Less than 10 minutes drive to downtown Punta Gorda.

Babcock - Webb is my local fresh water fishing hole. There is a $3.00 Per person or $6.00 per car fee and I pay it willingly. The park offers Fishing, Hiking, Camping,, Hunting, Gun Range and a paved road suitable for biking. Boats are permitted but no gas motors. You can launch your bass boat but must run on your... More

Spent the day taking photographs around the lake. The entire area is well kept and well worth the small entrance fee! Highly recommended!
