I wasn't expecting much that could be hacked out in the swamps of Florida. But the bus (buggy) trip tour was a delight. Not a lot of wildlife, but enough. Was more impressed at the environment and how they are taking care of every living thing in a respectful, environmentally conscious manner. My grandson kept running from one side of...

This is a state owned gun range well monitored by rangers. Several different ranges from archery, hand gun to 200 ft range. Really make sure you follow rules and if you are new other patrons even help educate you on gun ediquette. Older people help the young people and teach them it was quite an education.
A neat get-a-way that can be walked, biked, or driven. Pack a lunch, bring a water bottle, and explore the area. A nice paved road takes you down along the ponds where you can fish, see birds and wildlife.
Very large sanctuary with dirt roads and lots of water features. We were there at mid day and birding would probably be better early in the morning. As it was we saw more than enough to make it a good experience.
This is the wrong Babcock. Babcock-Webb is a hunting area. The Babcock for tours is on rte 31. Be careful. The appt took us to the gun club (which is next to a dump off of Zemel Rd).
You can hunt, fish, and practice your target shooting here-peaceful, sometimes!
Visited the center as it was close to where we were staying. Tour guide was excellent and very informative..

You can camp there, but I wouldn't want to because...

I hesitate to give any wildlife management area a negative review and will not do so with Babcok-Webb. Maybe we just didn't hit it on the right day. The sole reason why we visited was to have an opportunity to see red-cockaded woodpeckers which we did not. From the roads, with binoculars, I believe I saw only a handful of...
