The beaches of the Hutchinson Island off Port St Lucie area are expansive and readily accessible. We took our dogs to Walton because it was off leash and they needed to exercise. Since our dogs don’t play well with others, we took them on the beach on leashes, but once away from the other people and dogs, they played to... More

i like to spend time at the beach with my sister and her dog is important to her - this beach is dog friendly! it's private and clean -with a lovely view. It's a bit rocky in spots, but the rocks are obvious and part of the charm. The only negative is that although dogs are supposed to be in... More

This beach is special because canines are allowed (under owner control) to romp and play with their masters all along the beach. Although, some parts of the waterway enjoys a bed or rocks, the beach itself is quite nice and kids will enjoy playing in the sand.Locals know where to wade into the water and to avoid low tide as... It was great fun watching the dogs fetching balls from the ocean. On the other side of the coin, there were dogs who were afraid to go into the ocean. The area was beautiful and very well kept.

Walton Rocks is one of the few beaches that allow pets. The water is beautiful there and the dogs can run free. But they call it 'Rocks' for good reasons. Just past the shore line there are rocks all along the shore so it is not a great place for swimming. The surf can be rough and it will send... More

This is in my opinion the best beach in the local area. It is also dog friendly. The water the beach itself and the surroundings are beautiful as a photographer I love this beach.

My boxer LOVES Walton Rocks, and so do we! Friendly dogs, friendly people, quiet/secluded beach. When you have a dog as energetic as a boxer, letting her off the leash for a good run is always a welcome for both of us. We've been many times and never had a bad experience.

Not much more to add from what the others have written. Great space, beautiful ocean, friendly people and well behaved dogs. Thank you, St. Lucie County. Tip: It isn’t called Walton Rocks Beach for nothing. Take care at low tide for the buried limestone dotted along the sea floor. I found this in the area of beach at the furthest... More

This beach has gone to the dogs! This off-leash dog park was established on 24 acres of beach property so canines can romp in the sand and surf. Located on A1A, south of the St. Lucie Power Plant, 4 miles north of the Jensen Beach Causeway on Hutchinson Island. This is a nice, untouched beach with no life guards, the... More

Spent the day at the beach with our yellow lab, the beach was clean and lots of room for pups to run. Was not crowded and we were ther in the summer on a Saturday . Will defiantly be back when we are in the area.
