One of the prettiest parks in Florida and on the Gulf coast. Be sure and walk the trails, and get a permit to walk out to the tip of the cape. 15 mile trail so be prepared.

The state park is a great place to camp, kayak and hike, but I was very surprised that there are NO DOGS ALLOWED on the beach or the long hiking trail to the end of the island. Even if they are on a leash. We won't go back because of this rule. We are very responsible pet owners and pick... More

This year we chose to give/get no gifts except for the irreplaceable time with our family. We chose St. Joseph Peninsula State park... I a SO glad we did!! The beaches are pristine, wildlife abundant, staff friendly and man are the cabin rentals nice!! The beds were kinda icky, but for the price and location, I can't whine. Loved the... More

The sand is soft and WHITE, it squeeks when you walk on it. The water is emerald green, just beautiful. We have been camping in the Gulf loop for many years now. Never a disapointment. Gorgeous sunsets. You can fish or play in either the bay or the Gulf on this peninsula. Surf fishing seems good anytime we go. There... More

This is a beautiful state park with a gorgeous beach. We had our dog with us so we couldn’t enjoy the beach here, though the rest of the beaches on Cape San Blas allow dogs. That said, we enjoyed the short walking trails, where dogs area allowed. The trails are along the bay and in the wooded dunes. It was... More

One of the best state parks we've camped in. The bathhouses are spotless. The beach is pristine. Campsites are nice - some are small so be sure you pick one that accommodates your equipment. Lots of birds, alligators and the elusive (this trip) bobcat. Sunset on the beach. Visit the town of apalachacola for shopping and restaurants.

We camped here during the polar vortex and yes it was cool but far warmer then the sub-zero back home. There are two camp grounds which are connected by a boardwalk. The east campground is open and friendlier to large rig camping while the west campground offers some privacy but also a challenge to park your rig. I backed our... More

No wonder Florida State Parks have won best in the nation TWICE !! This park is wonderful. THE most beautiful beaches with 20-40' pure white sand dunes. A walk along the shore of St. Joe Bay that is great. And a walk up the spine of the peninsula that is just serene!! Add to all that a Top Notch Park... More

We love visiting the state park. We have spent our vacations there every year for more than 30 years. It's the hubby's fav place in the world. When he heads out in his canoe the fish are in trouble!

the park now houses the light house moved from cape san blas due to erosion of the gulf shore. it includes the light house keepers home and other building. a number of museums are in the area and one is located here. a good area to spend an hour or two of your day on the bay side.
