Great weekend

Stayed in a tent. Very clean bathrooms. Great trails. Gorgeous beach. Very nice staff. We rented bikes to go around the park. Best vacation spot I've been to

Alligator warning signs near swimming holes makes life interesting. Tourist bureau made sure scallop season opened early to accommodate tourists willing to extinct the species eating too small scallops.

We used the ramp to launch our jet ski and boats. It's not fancy, but it's nice that there's a boat staging area, both in the parking lot and in the water. From there, we were able to go out exploring and snorkeling in the bay. Part of the family stayed on the beach. There was plenty of room there... More

We love this state park. They do have cabins but it is hard to reserve one since they are always booked -- when I do book one I feel like I've won the lotto. However, we stay nearby and launch our 17 foot center console here. The water is so clean and blue. We boat out to the end of... More

We loved this beach! Only six dollars entrance fee great price for so much that is offers! I have never really snorkeled before and this area is awesome! Most people visiting are respectful and don't litter too much. Snorkeling is best at high tide unless you get out far then low tide is good. We visited this park three times... More

We had a wonderful day exploring the bay side. We found all kinds of wildlife...lots of crabs, starfish, horseshoe crabs, scallops, etc. The water is very shallow, but wear water shoes to protect your feet. The gulf side is absolutely beautiful. Soft, white sand and crystal clear water. The facilities are clean as well.

The water isn't as crystal clear as it is in Clearwater or Pensacola, but the sand is just as white. The night sky is something you won't see anywere near a city as the sky was so dark in the middle of the night you could see the Milky Way. Add the backdrop of the waves crashing on shore and... This is one of the nicer beaches I've visited in a long time. We also tried a beach off of Cape San Blas, and while it's the same literal strip of land, this beach was cleaner and better taken care of. The amenities (restrooms, showers, parking) were very helpful and the nature trail and playground a bit further up the... More
