When visiting Ponte Vedra Beach, you really should consider visiting Bird Island Park. It's located behind the PV library and fire station and it's really interesting seeing the birds from an elevated Boardwalk. The visit can last 10-15 mins or upwards to 1 - 1 ½ hrs. Great for kids and perfect to combine this park with the local library.

With the exception of a small, but well equipped, playground for children, the park is mostly a walking trail that borders a freshwater pond behind the... More

Behind the Ponte Vedra Library, this little park is full of native plantings, nesting birds (sometimes) and nature-themed art. Don't miss the storytelling area, an outdoor space with three levels of seating with beautiful mosaics representing the biodiversity of three habitats - coastal dunes, freshwater marsh and upland hammock.

Bird Island Preserve, adjacent to the St. John's County Ponte Vedra Library, is a perfect place to take a quick break from hectic daily routines. Ample parking, paved paths and level grades make the park accessible for all. Level paths circle the lake, and a wide dock and boardwalk lead to a gazebo overlooking the 'bird island.' Any water fowl... More
