Description: 11/10/2012 Update on the status of Vortex Spring ownership. The Dockerys...
11/10/2012 Update on the status of Vortex Spring ownership. The Dockerys are the owners of Vortex Spring and we plan on stay here for the foreseeable future. We are investing a great amount of money in cleaning up the water. So please come back and give us advice on how to make your stay more enjoyably.Dear all past and future visitors of Vortex Spring. My name is Connie Taylor and I was the manager at Vortex Spring 5 years ago when it was the amazing vacation spot you all remember. The resort was sold 5 years ago with great sadness by many involved in the upkeep of the property. The new owner has neglected the property so bad that it is going through a foreclosure sale on the 18th of October. There is a very high probability that the original owners the Dockerys will get the resort back. I am currently working at Vortex Spring trying to repair the damage that has been done. We have repaired the majority of the roads and are endeavoring in efforts to clean the water by removing the algae and under water weeds. I will keep you all up to date on the ownership after the 18th. Please don't write Vortex Spring off as a vacation spot just yet. The old management is back with a vengeance. Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help any way possible. We are doing everything in our power to restore in to the treasure it once was. Thank you all.

So I have 2 teenage boys and a 4 year old little girl. They all had fun despite the weather cutting our day short. Remember, the water is COLD, so when it gets cloudy, it's not so refreshing. The boys won't care, and most of the people there were beginning to get pretty tipsy, I imagine most of them started... More

This one word sums up our experience. From the people there to the littered "spring" and seemingly homemade swings/jumps, it was all trash. I would advise you to not take a trip there.

Met with friends here for a day trip. It was lots of fun. Crowded, but clear cold water. Plenty of slides, platforms, a trapeeze style swing and a zip line to drop into the water from. Rooms and cabins were outdated, but looked clean. I would love to try the cave dive into the spring cave next time.

I lived in Orlando for 35 years and visited local springs there often. I have since moved to Atlanta and came here with my 3 granddaughters. From the time we entered this park I was quite sure this was not the springs I was used to. The first thing you see on your drive in is about 15-20 broken down... More

We went on a Sunday in July under a "heat warning". The spring water is 68 degrees year round or so they say so it was quite refreshing and clean in the main spring area where the diving boards and rope swings are. Further down in a picnic area where it narrows into a creek; we saw a man covered... More

This freshwater spring has risen like a Pheonix since being returned to the developer's family. The improvements have come fast and regularly. They have built new water bridges, new camp site, new roads, & bathrooms. Superior SCUBA shopping has returned too. The water is cleaner and clearer than ever before. The swimmers have been attracted to the new area of... More

There is a great charm at this spring. Yes it is beautiful, the water is clear, you can see down to the gorgeous large koi fish and carp. The rope swing and slip and slide is so much fun! This is all wonderful, but it is not what made my trip as special as it was. The staff here were... More

I'd give it 5 stars if they'd enforce a noise ordnance. Vulgar drunks up well after midnight. Don't camp here if you'd like to sleep at any point.

So my husband and I stopped by on our way home from an RV vacation - I haven't felt like a kid in forever! Doing flips off the swing and zip line was epic! 12 dollars was a small price to pay for so much fun! Oh and btw- Miss Connie took good care of us and let us plug... More

This has to be the worst place to bring a family! Obvious intoxicated people not paying attention to children around them using very foul language and making sexual comments.
