The Pompano fishing pier extends quite a ways out into the ocean. It's an excellent place to walk for exercise and you get to see what people are catching (if anything), Make sure to take a picture with the resident pelican.

Pompano Beach area has been rehabbed it has playground for the children and a beautiful pier for fishing. You can rent poles there. Also great for biking and has a workout center next to children's playground

Feel like some ocean fishing not far from shore? Then one place to consider visiting is the Pompano Municipal Pier. This fishing pier extends into the Atlantic Ocean and offers some good opportunities for fishing without the need for a special boat excursion into the open sea. Pompano Municipal Pier is located very close to restaurants and shopping, but other... More

The Pier is great and cheap at $2. They just redid all of Pompano Beach beach area and the surrounding beach strip with new sidewalks, water park for kids, artificial grass, workout park, landscaping and more. The whole Pier area is very nice now.

Visit Florida twice a year for the fishing. First time at Pompano beach - nice big pier however very rocky and lost countless rigs/weights etc. No facilities on pier and despite paying $8 to fish you cannot use the toilet unless you buy food at the restaurant - the only pier I have ever fished off where you cannot go... We visited the Pier on our last day in Pompano Beach. There is a nominal fee of $2.00 We were able to park in the street but there is a parking lot near the pier with a fee. We spent a couple hours on the pier, just watching the fishermen, enjoying the warm sun, watching fish in the water as... More

There is no charge to go on the pier which is a nice area to walk out on, especially at sunset. There are always a lot of fisherman, so you will be around fishing equipment and things. So pay attention to the fisherman. This is part of an area that has a great walkway along the public beach. Parking however... More

We always find ourselves going to the Pompano Pier. Smack-dab in the middle of public beach area, always lots of folks hanging out while catching the views of the local Pelican as well as local resident fishermen/women. Great place to gather local residents perspective of best places to dine.

It is pretty and worth walking down to if you are close. Not a ton to do and seems like it can get crowded.
