Not worth the fee to enter. Go instead to Johnson Beach National Park just over the bridge.

Being able to see Florida in what we believe was its "original, God made" state was wonderful. We went to the observation tower, a couple of trails. It was beautiful. We were sadden to see what we believe was remnants of the BP oil spill and had to wonder if the lack of birds was due to this. None the... More

Went camping with my husband and two very young children, ages six and three. We had a great time. The campground has a playground and walking trails to the beach areas. The camp sites offer privacy from the next camper over, which was not the case for Ft. Pickens campground and is why we ultimately decided on Big Lagoon. We... More

I had heard a lot about Perdido Key - decided to see the Big Lagoon State Park - was really let down - scrubby looking - just a place for campers and they would need to be "rough" campers.

When we first arrived, I thought it had been landscaped by a master gardener, but I soon realized it was just natural plant life! This is how Florida might have looked before they plowed it all up to build motels, Acres of wetlands to explore, all from the comfort and safety of a raised walkway. If you are looking for... More

There is so much acreage at this park that could be used for something other than a bunch a dead trees n a few small trails. The fishing is horrible at the lake because it is so grown up that u can't even get to the water. The beach or what they call a beach has about a foot of... More

This is a great park with a wonderful campground. It is well maintained, the camp hosts are very helpful and the restrooms/shower facilities are clean. We camped in a popup and the sites are very nice. There groomed hiking trails, a raised wooden walkway that meanders through the woods, over ponds and streams that stretch from the campsite to the... Spent a sunny warm March day walking the trails and beach at Big Lagoon State Park. Nice place to get some exercise.

We came down to visit friends in Pensacola and stopped by Big Lagoon while they were at work. It costs $6 to get in. By looking at the map, we thought that there was a hike from one of the mid parking lots, to the Big Lagoon, over the boardwalks and back. Maybe we weren't interpreting the map correctly, but...
