This park has lots to explore w/ plenty of hiking trails, boardwalks, salt marshes and the observation tower. The camping areas are nice w/ clotheslines, fire rings and picnic tables. All have water and electricity also. Although some sites were fairly close to each other, they are all surrounded by palmetto & other thick bushes/trees. We loved the fact that there... More

Unaffected, natural, beautiful views, the best experience for enjoying the outdoors in a pristine environment. I loved feeling 'alone' and yet so surrounded by nature. The birds, the breezes, the views, it has it all. Went geocaching, and enjoyed the hunt

Visited this park to check out campgrounds. Found the whole park to be very nice to camp our just to picnic. Nice boardwalk walking trails. Bird migration beginning. Would definitely return.

We paid $6.00 to get in. There are 2 areas: the West "beach" has a boat launch and campground and the East "beach" has a birding path around a salt water marsh with a tower. Kayaking is allowed. We parked at the East beach and walked on the wooden path. There were pavilions and rest room facilities. It was pleasant... More

We stayed here in a smaller motor home. We like space between our site and the next and we enjoy bushes and or trees to separate us from fellow campers. This park had all of this. There are also walking paths, and the beach is close at hand, giving you something to do and things to see. During our stay... More

very quiet when I visited on a chilly day in late December - felt like I had the trails to myself. Enjoyed the boardwalk trails over the watery areas but also the sandy trails thru the brush.

We tent camped here. It was a wonderful campsite, great parking, fired its and picnic tables. It is close to the Alabama border so you can hop over there for some great seafood. The bathrooms were clean, warm and had great hot water.

Big Lagoon State Park, together with St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, is supposedly one of two "gateways" to the Panhandle section of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. So it was pretty weird when the ranger on duty who collected our entry fee had clearly never even heard of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. The best he... More

I was here over the weekend for the Perdido Key Kayak Fishing Boondoggle and had a blast. October is the perfect month for tackling the sandy hiking trails and I was able to get a lot of great pictures. Be sure to bring a bike; the pavilions and tower are quite a distance from the campsites and a bike will... More

Had a great time at Big Lagoon park. Sites are nicley space. Give you a little seclusion. Nice walking trails. Amenities are close, Publix, restaurant, beach. Kayak paddled the lagoon and caught a few fish. Highly recommend this park.
