This is one of our favorite beaches in Florida. It's never too crowded and is a National Seashore which makes it a natural beach. The sand is white and the water is usually clear and emerald. It can get murky but will clear up in a day or so.

Having visited beaches all over the US, this beach is simply grand. The sand is white, the waves are fine- not huge by any means- but perfect for the enjoyment of families. One must walk out 30' or so to reach chest-high water. My wife and I take our dogs to the park weekly for a walk on the trails;... More

The beach is calm for the most part with excellent facilities. Be aware access will run you 15 dollars unless your military. Parking is right up to the beach so no long walks packing things. Also they have multiple pavilions you can rent for events. Weddings, birthdays or whatever else you need.

This is my favorite beach in our area. You have to pay to get in but it is less crowded. Great bay snorkeling here. On the gulf side, fishing and playing in the waves. Only complaint is that all bathrooms are at the beginning of the park, there are none past the first access area.

Johnson Beach is a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service). The beach is 7 miles long, counting from the beginning of the Park just east of Lands Ends condominiums all the way to the eastern tip of the Perdido Key. You may enter the beach through the gate on the access road, where you pay... More

This is one of the best kept secrets of Pensacola FL! This beach is very clean, it has covered pavilions with picnic benches and grills for anyone to use without having a reservation! This is a beautiful beach!

Nice quiet beach away from the crowds! Great place for family gatherings. Shady pavilion to escape the sun with plenty of tables for picnicking.

After our visit to Pensacola NAS, we headed up for Johnson Beach. Where for other Florida stateparks we paid on average an entrence fee of 6 USD for a day, the ranger told us that they only had weekly permit for 15 USD. Without knowing what to expect (we planned to visit 3 different beaches in/around Pensacola during our 5-day... More

We love coming here every week. We live so close and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beach. Since we're over 62, we purchased a lifetime pass for $10.00.

Just what I wanted - a secluded beach with sugar white sand. We were amazed by the beauty and the wildlife. I saw herons and chased a small shark for a mile down the beach. Perfect place to get away from it all and relax!!
