Johnson Beach is part of the national park system so you must buy a national park pass to enter. The beach is made of truly gorgeous white sand and goes on for miles. This is my favorite beach walking beach ever! The crashing waves are fabulous and the Gulf of Mexico views unbelievable. The beach is quite unpopulated. Makes you... More

Johnson Beach isn't as crowded as pensacola beach or gulf shores, for instance, but has the same beautiful sand and water. Part of the national seashore, there are no condos or other structures.to mar the view...just several l miles of gorgeous beach. Restrooms, and covered pavillions are available, also.

White sand, clear water, clean beach, few people.....Heaven on Earth! Love walking along the beach and collecting shells. Bought an annual pass as I plan to return as often as I can.

I discovered Johnson Beach while on a summer RV trip in 2013. It is located in the Gulf National Seashore and has an interesting history. The beach is beautiful with white sugary sand made of Quartz, which does not get hot in the summer sun. There are two large parking lots and parking is allowed on the road that runs... More

Such a beautiful pristine white beach open to walkers, bikers, or cars. Very limited roadside parking so use the parking lot.

Came to this place on our last day in Pensacola. It is beautiful! It was on a Saturday, and the temperature topped out at 66*. Crowds were light, beach is white, the Gulf was calm with small waves crashing on the beach. Could not have better. We shall not forget this place and hope to return,

The best place to stroll a beach with pure white sand, decent sea shells, and enjoy a warm winter day,

Like another reviewer, I'd rather it be kept a secret. To me it's the perfect beach; WHITE sand, not crowded. Perfect.

Lots of tables, parking, restrooms. The monument to Pvt. Johnson is touching and appropriate. Only 17 years old when he lost his life saving others. Walking trails everywhere and a gorgeous beach. What's not to like?!
