If you are expecting to have amenities, than best you stay away from here. Stay on the actual Perdido Beach or the ones in Pensacola or even Orange Beach. IF you don't mind a small area that has basic bathroom facilities, is hosted by a lifeguard and has a shaded board walk of sorts for picnicing, than you will most... More

This is an awesome beach. I go here a lot. I buy a year pass because it is way more cheaper, if you go as much as I do. It is $25.00 or you can buy a week pass for $8.00. All people are welcome. They have a great pavilion place with tons of picnic benches and tables, public bathrooms... More

When I was a boy, 1950-60's, this was a great place to go swimming and fishing. It's grown up and is a bit busy, but you can still find the old places if you want.

Great beach and surrounding area; it's wonderful to learn why the beach is named after such courageous young man. Glad the beach bears his name and he is remembered for his bravery.

This unit off of Perdido Key is a great primitive beach experience. Not a lot of traffic, good snorkeling and swimming. The shower facilities are lacking but if you are staying near by or plan ahead it is not an issue. Much less touristy than Destin area beaches.

If you are looking for a beach with a little more privacy compared to Pensacola, Beach. You have found it. I've been going to Johnson Beach for 20 years. it is a little farther out but has really grown. With restaurant's and pubs. Very nice day out.

Johnson Beach is a long stretch of beach that separates Big Lagoon from the Gulf of Mexico. It is less than 100 yards wide and one has their choice of the ocean waves or the calmness of the lagoon. Both have beautiful white sand. There is a $7 (I think) parking fee but it is good for 7 days, but... More

My wife and I live in Pensacola and always visit when we want a nice little bit of quiet to make the days issues disappear. The beach is unspoiled, the water is inviting and the sunsets are the envy of any camera bug. Please make this a point of interest if you are visiting as you will no doubt agree... More

Wish the road was longer down the island but it leaves miles of unspoiled beaches for the wildlife (ie; beach mouse, seagulls and turtles). You have a fee to enter the park but there are facilities at the main parking lot. Further down there are boardwalks over the dunes to the beach. Very serene.

The beach was pleasantly calm. It was good to have the memories of growing up in Pensacola, and the days of being taken to the beach as a child to Johnson's Beach.
