We LOVE camping at Ft Pickens in Gulf Islands National Seashore. The beach is a short walk away. There is also the forts and fishing pier. Amazing sunsets too!

Incredible beaches, wonderful fort (Ft. Pickens), and great birding. The piers by the fort are good for viewing sea life, one is fishing, and for beach access on the bay side of the island. Bring a picnic lunch and plenty of drinks for sunny, hot days. We saw a snowy plover and many least terns and osprey. A red-breasted merganser... More

Beautiful sugar-white sand and a turquoise sea and the big yellow shining star in the sky just about makes for a perfect seaside place. This protected National seashore is a great picnic spot. Our kids loved it when they were little. Gently sloping shallow swim area and lots to explore!

I always love the beach, but this time it was a little cold and I still am sick because of it. Best beaches in the USA!

We visited this park for the first time this last weekend. Nice, clean, white sand beach. Excellent for swimming and sunbathing. Family atmosphere; very laid back and quiet. Bring your own chairs, food and beach umbrellas as there are none provided. Life guard on duty most of the day. There are signs warning of a RIP current, but we never... More
