If you like history and love forts, don't miss this one. Not only is the fort and gift shop fun, the drive out along the shoreline from Pensacola beach is absolutely beautiful...still can't get over that white sand. It may be a long drive out to the fort from Pensacola beach, but with that view, who cares?? There are plenty... More

I live on Pensacola Beach and have done so since 1986. I a grateful every day for it's natural beauty, unspoiled as many islands are. We have so much to be grateful, and there is plenty of access to the beach and the Sound for exercise, meditation, walking, not to mention the water sports. Get yourself to the beach!

We LOVE camping at Ft Pickens in Gulf Islands National Seashore. The beach is a short walk away. There is also the forts and fishing pier. Amazing sunsets too!

Incredible beaches, wonderful fort (Ft. Pickens), and great birding. The piers by the fort are good for viewing sea life, one is fishing, and for beach access on the bay side of the island. Bring a picnic lunch and plenty of drinks for sunny, hot days. We saw a snowy plover and many least terns and osprey. A red-breasted merganser... More

Beautiful sugar-white sand and a turquoise sea and the big yellow shining star in the sky just about makes for a perfect seaside place. A nearby old fort and dunes make a great spot for kids to play and have fun when they have had enough of paddling and swimming in the shallow sloping waters of the Gulf. Only a... More
