found some pretty shells, (son made necklace and earrings for girlfrind out of) water was blue and amazing. it was kinda foggy the day we went and was gone to go to fort pickens(8 dollars a car) but knew it wasnt going to clear so just went to the free beachs.. PLENTY to chose from.

Took a beautiful scenic drive along the Gulf several times. You know your on the way when you cross over the three mile bridge.

Sugar White Sands, over 30 Miles long with the Gulf of Mexico on the South side; and Pensacola Bay and Intercoastal Waterway on the North side

Not so crowded as Destin area yet close enough to see it all. Excellent accommodations available, beautiful beaches, close to fine restaurant.

This island includes Gulf Shores Ntl Seashore, Pensacola Beach and many other beaches (Destin, Sandestin, Seaside, Panama City Beach, etc.). We will be back again and again and next time will stay at different points along the island. The white sand beaches are wonderful and stretch for miles and miles!
