Renting a canoe and paddling the coldwater or blackwater are not to be missed. Take the long or the short trip. Easy for novice or experienced paddlers. Or, just rent an inner tube and float down the river. Take a picnic lunch for stops at numerous sandbars along the way.

This is a yearly family reunion we attend. And it is great place to meet with Picnic Pavilions and everything needed for an outdoor meal with a large group.

The western most tributary of the Blackwater River is The Big Coldwater Creek. It is so family friendly. The water is a perfect depth for wading and at every bend is a deeper swimming hole next to a sandy beach. The spring fed stream is refreshing in the summer, and perfect for canoeing, kayaking and swimming.Coldwater Creek is shallow enough to keep motor boats out.It... We rented a canoe instead of tubing because someone mentioned that there were water snakes in the river. I spoke to three people on the river who said they had been tubing the river for 5 or more years and have never seen anything. Totally beautiful and totally safe. One of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful Sandy bottoms and... More

I went with my wife and daughter last summer and had a great time. We rented four tubes (one for each of us and one smaller one for a cooler) and leisurely floated down the river. I think it was approximately $30 or so for all of us and you can take as long as you want. One thing to... More

If you love to float or paddle down a river, swim, camp, hiking or whatever, go here!!! While many place create a natural-like setting to make people feel good, this place simply took advantage of the natural Florida environment. BRSRA only added accommodations to make your stay better, they did not take anything away from the natural beauty of this... More

If you enjoy camping and canoeing you will really like this place. I had never been in a canoe before but found out that I really enjoyed this. The water is cool and the nature is beautiful. I have not camped there but understand the cabins are great.

Went on a trip beginning upstream and ending at Blackwater State Park in kayaks. Me and my family had a great time and will definitely be back! What a beautiful place!

1st-the man running the kayak rental co. is VERY nice and helpful. Just 3 of us and in December and he made the effort for us. The river is SO relaxing, sandbars at every turn, and large slider turtles sunning themselves! Our best day in the Panhandle!

Float down the river in a canoe or inner tube. Great family fun. You will never forget this experience. It is the best water experience because it is so shallow.
