There is NOT any big shells or beachcombing to do, but the Gulf side of the beach was just gorgeorus. You have to pay 8.00 dollars just to get on at at the state park-then pay 16.95 per person to ride the ferry boat. Make sure you go over to the Gulf side and NOT stay at the boat dock... More

Allow me to say, first, that Shell Island is gorgeous. It's the way the beach was supposed to look. The problem is the time and cost involved in getting over there. We took a charter and it took us well over an hour to get over there. It was roughly about $24ish per person and once we got there we... More

We didn't understand that we would have to walk in August heat quite a distance. As we are sedentary seniors it was more aerobic than we we able to do.

Shell Island was definitely worth the boat cost and time. This is a must see if going near St Andrews Park. The water was emerald green and very clear. We however did get attacked by flies which were horrible. At one time I had more than 10 on my legs biting me. Also we did not have any luck finding... More

the trip to the island aboard the captain anderson III was the highlight of our trip.. the island is gorgeus. was slightly disappointed that we didnt find more shells. but what a beautiful place..a ray came right up to us on edge of beach. enjoyed the primitive side of pcb.. nothing to disturb the natural look of the beach

Wonderful beach. One of the best I have been to in Florida. Emerald green water, white sand, sand dunes and more. The best part is that it is quiet and not crowded at all. Definitely a must see in Panama city beach.

It's very beautiful and clear water, but I'm mystified to where all the shells are. I walked a long way and didn't find anything that wasn't tiny and average. If you're looking for a bunch of little shells this is the place. Also the biting flies were awful. Shell Key in St . Petersburg beach was awesome big shells and... More

Dolphins and relaxing day on he beach. I would recommend this to any PCB visitors. We took a boat and jet skis over and this was a great way to go.

This is a beautiful piece of heaven . My husband and I went through St. Andrews park and paid 150$ to rent a pontoon boat for 4 hours . It was so worth it. It's about a 5 minute boat ride from St. Andrews park. I didn't find but a small handful of shells but the scenery is beautiful and... More

Whether you rent your own boat or take a shuttle, it's totally worth the trip over. It's a remote island, no bathrooms, but it is gorgeous. No condos, house, high rises, etc......The water is very clear and there no uch see weed. Take your coolers and your chairs, and then relax and enjoy
