She'll island was fun and there a lot of companies that provide their services but you are only allowed to go to one small part of the beach and the shells were severely picked over.

Nice spot to take the kids and kick back! The shuttle did not take long and the staff was very helpful on the bus and boat!

Bring a cooler and a beach umbrella and snorkel gear. Snorkeling by the rocks on the bay side and the gulf side is very good. Gulf side is crystal clear. Rock jetty at Destin does have a larger array of fish species. Did not walk the whole island and found a couple of unique shells underwater with the goggles. Signs... More

Very pretty place however do not bring babies and toddlers there. No shade. No restrooms. Only things there are what you bring. Kids 5 and up had a blast. Bring whatever you may need

We found a spot a few yards off Shell Island where we dug up tons of sandollars with our toes. The water was about chest-deep. We kept pulling up sandollar after sandollar & collected a huge bucket of them. FUN!

I went to St Andrews state park and rode the bus then a boat to shell Island. It seems like it cost $8 to get into the park then another $17 per person for the bus/boat ride. I think next year we will just go on another tour to skip the bus. The place is gorgeous. I had a lot... More

This is always a highlight to our trip. You have to walk the soft white sands, look for sand dollars and of course wonderful shells. The native habitat is wonderful. Leave it like you found it!!

We rented our own pontoon and took our family of six to Shell Island for the day. This place is in St. Andrews State Park. Not only is the park beautiful, Shell Island is simply amazing. Looks like the Carribean. All natural and pristine. We saw sting rays, dolphins and swam with live sand dollars. Plenty of beautiful shells and... More

We rode a pontoon boat out to Shell Island. I think the cost was around $160. It's very nice out there and the water is very clear, white sands. We saw people out there snorkeling, etc. We just anchored and tried looking for shells but we didn't find any sad to say. Doesn't seem to be a lot out there.... More

I went to Shell Island with several of my friends. We rented a pontoon boat and drove out there for a 4-hour trip. The ride out was beautiful and we enjoyed the shallow places where you could see right to the bottom. At two different points, we anchored the boat and did some snorkeling. We also anchored in a little... More
