I grew up in Panama City and loved the former Jr. Museum. It now has a new name and new location, but the rest needs an update. Although most exhibits and interactive areas originated from good ideas; they are put together with makeshift items.

I grew up in Panama City and loved to go to the Jr. Museum for educational purposes and to see what the flavor of the season for exhibits would be. It is now called the Science and Discovery Center of Northwest Florida. - http://scienceanddiscoverycenter.org/ This is great place for younger children through teens and a fantastic place for Grandparents to... $7 for this Science Center is pretty high. My 7 & 8 years old went through it in 1 hour. It was a good stop, but to dump $26 down for it was hard to say "Was it worth it?". I've been to cheaper but more fun science centers this summer alone. The exhibits are fair to good. The best... More

I'm a college student and a science major and love going to science museums and such. But this place was terrible. They didn't have much at all. If you have alot of little kids it might be nice, but for me it wasn't worth it. I would have rather spent my money in a better way. Not very informative either.... More

We got in free with our reciprocal museum membership. My 12 yr. old grandson said they had some cool stuff, like the airplane cockpits, the body to disassemble, and the electric current piano. My eight year old granddaughter loved playing grocery shopping, which my grandson says it not science. They were still enjoying the place after an hour and a... More

I have an ASTC reciprocal membership and have been to many science museums (Nashville, St. Louis, Birmingham, Louisville, Mobile, etc,). This one is average at best (one story of exhibits, several of which were out of order), but for its location ( ie, not a large city) it serves a valuable purpose. I got in for free with my reciprocal... More

They have some reptiles and a space for toddlers that include a small shopping/grocery area and a life like boat. For the older kids they have two rooms with educational displays that are interactive. They have a new building where they host exibits that they change out. I am very impressed that they have some outdoor fun too. They have... More

We scheduled a birthday party at the Science & Discovery Center. All we had to do was bring the cake and ice cream (we could've brought more but chose not to) and guests. The friendly staff set up the party and clean-up after. The guest got to explore the museum and we even added on to our party and tie-dyed... More

Nice place to take very young kids. We spent about an hour there. Don't miss the trail outside it was a nice walk. Exhibits were nicely done and my 5 year old nephew enjoyed his day there. From the outside it looks like a large museum. Only the offices are in the entrance. The second buidling houses all the science... More

This is the new name for the Panama City Junior Museum. they got a new building, and changed the name. My son has spent some time here for summer camp, but we've not gone through it together since it changed. The older building was an excellent hands-on science and discovery place, which would display traveling stuff when it would come... More
