Lots of plants and trees are labelled. Some of the trails are not shaded so bring sunblock and water. We have been going here for many years, but the hurricane damage is still noticeable to those of us who visited before the storms came through. There is a long boardwalk that is accessible to wheel chairs. Getting to the boardwalk... More

Visiting TC Sanctuary makes for a nice day trip. You can hike or run the boardwalk and exercise trails. The boardwalk will take you over and through the woods along the Turkey Creek. One area is especially good for spotting manatees, gators and turtles. No bikes in the Sanctuary by the Library and Community center, but just a little farther... More

Wonderful sanctuary! I loved the picnic areas around Turkey Creek. You should bring walking shoes and a camera. You will have pretty pictures! You will spend 1-2 hours there!

Turkey Creek is one of my favorite places to kayak. Every time I go I see plenty of wildlife such as Gar, turtles, alligators, Dolphins, manatees; I have even seen shark. It's for the most part an easy paddle but after a storm the water can flow pretty good.

The boardwalk at Turkey Creek is very peaceful. I went with out of town guests and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was shaded, pleasant to walk, and makes you very aware of your native Florida surroundings.

Took the grandkids for a stroll on the boardwalk. Good exercise with enough shade that you can do this during the day. Has enough things to see that you can keep them occupied. Nice outing that won't cost a dime!

This is a great place to bring the family and spark conversation and exercise! You can spend as few as 15 minutes or as much as 2 hours here exploring all the trails. The nature center is a great introduction to local wildlife for visitors. What looks like a palm scrub, actually has WAY more going on than you think... More

Loved this sanctuary. You do really feel that you are in the middle of nowhere. You can see many raccoons, birds, butterflies and turtles. I did 2 trails but not the kayak. I hope to do the kayak if I get to visit again.

Having lived in this area for years, and knowing of TK, we finally decided to go for a nice Sunday afternoon stroll. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Most of this trail is on raised Boardwalks which make it safe and accessible. It can be hot and sunny in places, bring a bottle of water with you. Great simple... More
