Beautiful beach!! Nothing like driving right on the beach. Small fee for getting on beach with a car. The beach pass will last for the whole day until dusk. If you are tried of the scenery you can pack up and head further south as long as driving is permitted. Some areas are more populated so if you like a... More

Ormond Beach is the North end of the greater Daytona Beach area. The beach has basically 2 different sections, defined by the Granada Avenue approach to the beach. South of Granada has on-the-beach driving, more hotels and tourists, and is generally more populated. North of the Granada approach has no vehicles on the beach, no hotels except one about 3... More

Parts of the beach you can drive cars on. That sand is hard packed .( Be careful for people running to the ocean.) North of Granada is a" no drive beach". Nice wide beach, great for sunning, castle building, fishing, biking, running, surfing and general beach fun. There are some private homes and condos on the beach, but also county... More

Ormond Beach has a height restriction on homes, buildings and condos. There is a new Public Park Beach with facilities, a snack shop, playground and splash park located at the south end of OB just before you reach Daytona. South of Granada you may drive on the beach in restricted areas. Pristine beaches are located North of Granada (ROUTE 40)... More

This beach was a great beach! Lots of fisherman, so you have to be careful when boogie boarding, but very clean and wide. Mostly quiet and lowly populated.

I loved the drive north along the ocean on A1A and was so pleased that the ocean side is natural vegetation with no buildings, just parking areas with dune walkovers. I was even lucky enough to watch a right whale near the surface, water spouting/blowing high in the air. A great moment for a nature junky.
