We have been to the Hard Rock Live twice. Once to see Craig Ferguson and last tonight to see Joan Rivers. Both comedians are terrific. However we would never see another event at the Hard Rock Live.
The tickets are expensive and the venue is awful. If seated on the floor, unless you are very tall, your view is obstructed....

I've attended 2 concerts here and here's a few things I like and dislike:

It's located within Universal CityWalk... so before the concert you can lounge around, have dinner at their many restaurants, or simply stroll around the numerous stores they offer.

If someone you like is playing the Hard Rock Live, GO! THis is a great sounding room! My wife and I have seen Godsmack, Evanescence, Hawthorne Heights, Seether, and several other bands here. Every show has been awesome. This room has a wonderful bar vibe.

We had a great time at the show, Sitting in the balcony was great and close to the bar. table server was great, although busy she took good care of us. They should relax with the security, everytime we looked at our phone they assumed we were recording, very annoying.

Loved the venue. Sat in the balcony and still had a perfect view of the stage. Was there for a comedy show and loved just about every moment of it. The talent was great and funny. From getting help choosing a "city" Tee-shirt to getting seated quickly for a luncheon, this location has it all.
Quick tip- you get free valet parking if you go to lunch between 11am and 2pm. This gets you as close as possible- still plan on walking a bit to get to the location
