We went to Lake Lizzie for a 6 mile Horseback trail, with Jade Meadows riding Stables. This a beautiful place to enjoy natural Florida. The scenery and the Lake are beautiful. It is natural and unspoilt. It's a great trail for Horseback riding, there were 3 of us, and we had plenty of room on the track. There is a pavilion and... More

Been here a few times on nature walks. Even brought my dogs a few times. Very quiet, not many people. The marsh loop trail is about a mile total. Easy hike with a dock and bench about half way thru. There is a longer trail also, can't remember the name. It is long though, took a few hours to walk... More

The preserve is pretty much done since my last review in February 2014. The construction activity is gone. I visit this area 6-10 times per year. I really enjoy the unmarked connecting trails as well as the marked, main trails. There is an Eagle Scout GPS project with search signage. There are probably 20 markers scattered on the north side... This is a nice park with lots of trails. There are very few people, it is quiet and very natural on the north end. The entrances (south and north) are hard to find. The trailhead maps are somewhat confusing. This all makes for a great adventure. Note: There are alterations being made on the east side and central park area.... More

I've been out to Lake Lizzie a couple of times! It offers great hiking and it's close to my house. The marsh trail loop at the south entrance is a great trail to take when it's hot! I wouldn't advice doing the Lake Lizzie loop when it's really hot it's full of sugar sand which makes it even hotter but... More

Less than 5 minutes from our house, we bring the horses and go trail riding frequently. We've also brought the dogs before and walked them to the neat wooden platform bridges that go out over the swamps. Very nice, my kids love it - on foot, on horseback - and my husband is looking forward to taking the kayak next... More

Best to enter the north entrance to the park (you have to drive through residential area to get there and there are no signs to follow). There is a map of trails at each entrance but as you get on a trail there are several crossing trails which makes it difficult to know where the trails lead let alone to... More

The hiking here is suitable for all. There are 3 main trails to follow - 1 mile; 3 mile & 6 mile. The paths are wide and, in the case of the 6 mile trail, clearly marked. There are toilet facilities at the start and the mid point of the trail which was extremely useful, and a substantial picnic area... More

Wonderful hiking trails. Many to choose from depending on your experience or how far you would like to hike. Ample parking for horse trailers or large hiking groups to meet. Great place to start an exercise group and enjoy nature in the process! Restrooms are provided near the parking area. Be sure to bring water and your cell phone for... More
