Just returned from WDW last weekend. My 16 year old son and I did the Wild Africa Trek at the 9:30am reservation time. All animals were out, eating, playing, sunbathing, doing their safari thing! The morning was cool so the savanna was busy and beautiful. Our guides were personable, knowledgeable, and very concerned with our safety and overall satisfaction with... More

This 2.5-hour tour was one of the most unique outings we've done in the mainland United States. We saw all the animals the regular safari attraction does, plus a few others. The first half was a hike that included viewing various groups of animals, watching hippos and crocodiles from a ledge about 20 feet over them, and walking over a... More

The Wild Africa Trek is a behind-the-scenes / critters-up-close tour in the same area as the Kilimanjaro Safari tour/ride. Normally it's a 2 hour tour of 12 people with 2 guides. In our case, we booked the day before the tour and ended up on a tour of just three of us. Sorry Bill, you could have had the entire... More

My husband and I went to DW on our honeymoon. After reading some poor reviews about the WAT we were a little concerned about our decision to do it. But, after doing the trek I can honestly say who ever made the poor reviews must have been sour pusses. It was so much fun!! Our guides Davis and Shane were... More

Let me start this review by saying I am very, very "thrifty", so when I say this is worth the money you can understand the gravity of this statement. THIS IS WORTH THE MONEY!!!! The Trek started off by up close encounters with zebras, hippos, and alligators during the walking part of the tour. You cross a bridge that is... More

This was a great experience and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. Our group was all adults and our guides were awesome! We got to get super up close and personal with the animals and hear about their back stories (like Henry and Hans the only two male hippos who can be housed together). It was so much... More

I chose this trek knowing it was very expensive, Would I do it again no, am I glad I did it OHHH Yess It was fab I liked the fact that you went in the hippo enclosure albeit at a great height above them and secured by a line and the same with the alligators. I liked the individual nature... More

This was one of the true highlights of our trip! We signed up for an early tour in hopes the animals would be more active in the morning and we were not disappointed. Additionally, our group was only 4 guests (us and another couple) so we got more time to chat and ask questions than a full tour (12 people).... More

My husband, son and I all loved this tour. It was very well organised and our guides Abbé and Jay were very lovely and knowledgeable, despite thinking it's the hokey pokey when we all know it's the hokey cokey ;-) The trek meets next to the entrance to Kilimanjaro safaris where you are fitted with a harness and ear piece... We had our trek on November 1, 2014. It was a REALLY windy and cold day. This being said, the Wild African Trek was still* one of the best experiences I have ever had. We got up close to hippos, crocodiles, and giraffes, cattle, and many more animals during our safari portion. We also got many free pictures, and of... More
