My husband, son and I all loved this tour. It was very well organised and our guides Abbé and Jay were very lovely and knowledgeable, despite thinking it's the hokey pokey when we all know it's the hokey cokey ;-) The trek meets next to the entrance to Kilimanjaro safaris where you are fitted with a harness and ear piece... We had our trek on November 1, 2014. It was a REALLY windy and cold day. This being said, the Wild African Trek was still* one of the best experiences I have ever had. We got up close to hippos, crocodiles, and giraffes, cattle, and many more animals during our safari portion. We also got many free pictures, and of... More

Having watched the video at DisneyParks channel on YouTube and having read the positive reviews in both Unofficial Disney World Guide and on several websites, I have expected a Wild Africa Trek Tour with lots of animals and walking and thrill. What we got was very little walking, very few animals and lots of security checks (checking the restraints every... More

Yep, it is pricy but the best way to get up close to wildlife in a natural surrounding in the USA. Our guides Davis and Morgan made the trek fun, safe, educational and entertaining for the entire three hour adventure. We saw graceful giraffes, hippos, crocks, zebras, baboons in close settings without the confines of a zoo. Lunch was the... More

We booked this trip at the last minute. It was about 450USD for two if us which I thought was quite expensive although we did go on the 8.00am trip. Later times were 50USD off person. We arrived at Animal Kingdom at 7.30 to discover that as it was so early the car park ticket booths were shut so we... More

At almost $200 per person this is an expensive "trek" but as we were visiting during the "off" season they regularly offer discounts and I knew this so I enquired and found out they were offering a $50 per person discount for the month of September for trek's between 12noon and 3pm. So I booked Hubby and I in for... More

The extra fee needed to take this trek was SOOOO worth it. We found out about it quite by accident..thanks to an employee on the safari ride. Our three hour tour was AMAZING, our guides Stephanie & Abbe, who are very friendly, knowledgeable, funny. I must admit we were hesitant about the fee, but you get a private safari tour, a... More

I was a little hesitate to spend $200 per person, But this was so worth every penny! Our guides were so knowledgable and super accommodating. We had great views while they feed the hippos. Walking across both bridges was exciting. The safari truck ride was similar to the normal ride but truck pulled over several time for photo opportunities. We... More

So this is an add on tour at Disneys Animal Kingdom you have to pay for separately. It is fairly expensive however you get: a 3hr personal tour with tour guides, behind the scenes tour, special safari through savannah, a food snack (which tastes great) on the wooden lodge building - with amazing views, free photos included, souvenir water flask... Yes this tour is PRICEY... but to me it was worth every single penny I paid. I went on the first tour in February. It was chilly but I found that the animals were very active and the park didn't open until 9, so the Savannah was practically just us and the animals. When we arrived we had to sign... More
