Having been on real safaris in Africa, I was a bit apprehensive about shelling out $400 for two people to walk & ride through Disney's Animal Kingdom. The guides were very good and it was fun being clipped on to safety lines to walk across the rope bridges and view the hippos & crocodiles. Unfortunately the big cats were in... More

The first half the experience is a walking tour through the wooded back stage area of Animal Kingdom. You are in a full body harness where they connect you to their safety system. Along the way you get to see up close views of hippos and crocs. You get to walk across a high bridge, which are all great picture... More

I have to start by saying that I was very hesitant and actually almost cancelled a week prior to our tour. We had a 10am tour with Elly and Joshua. They were both great! It was a very informative tour. On the first part of the tour, which was the walking part, we also met some other workers during our... More

The initial part of the trek is a walking tour, and that gets you into areas that no other Disney patron can get to, particularly with the hippos and crocs. There are some great picture opportunities, so even though the guides take plenty of pictures, I'd bring the camera if you like to apply your own artistry. Of course, we... More

This outback truck ride cost $200 per person. A lot of money for a family adventure. The staff were great the African food lunch interesting and the ability to actually sit still along the side of the road and watch some of the animals great. The public tour truck uses the same road so if this is too much money you... I have just returned from two weeks in Orlando and DH and I took part in this tour during our first week. It was a good experience - our guides were very interesting and informative. The only downsides to this tour are the cost (there is seasonal pricing but it is not cheap even in off season) and lunch was... More

Notwithstanding others reviews, we did not find this event worth the cost. Giving all the safety precautions, crossing the bridges is not exceptionally thrilling. Our animal experience on the tour did not exceed our experiences at several different zoos. I'd recommend you spend the money elsewhere in Disney.

This tour requires a paid admission to AK and gets you closer to the animals at AK that any other attraction. The cost of this tour varies depending on your age and time of the year and includes a great lunch. Cross rope bridges, walk through settlements and be driven in safari vehicles. Truly once in a lifetime!

This was one of the most enjoyable morning we spent of our last trip - got to see lots of animals! Crossing that rope bridge over the hippos and crocs is something I'll always remember! The photos of our tour sent to us afterwards are a wonderful memento!

My husband and I participated in the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World just a few weeks ago. We had heard good things about it, so we thought we would give it a try! We chose to tour at 9:00am, this was a good time to go, although I don't think there is a bad time.... More
