I've driven by this museum on I-75 for years, finally stopped in this year. What a treasure trove of drag racing history. Exhibits include cars, engines, components and other items that have been relevant in the last 75 years of hot rodding / drag racing. Don's place is absolutely packed full of things to see. A must for anyone interested... More

I was a drag racer back in the day, and watched Don Garlits race in Indianapolis Raceway Park and Ohio Spring National. Worth stopping for anyone that enjoys racing

Decided to take a trip to the museum and check it out. We got a late start and ended up arriving around 2pm. If you enjoy Drag racing this is a WONDERFUL exhibit! There is SO much to see - there wasn't enough time! We upgraded our 1 day admission ticket to a year membership so we could return.

Like returning to Mecca, my husband will go out of his way to visit Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing when we are in the area. There is much history to be found here - obviously Don has never thrown anything away in his life. But that is part of the appeal of this place, and for those of you... More

If you are a drag racing fan, you will enjoy the dragsters and memorabilia in the racing museum. If you like classic cars, the vintage car museum has plenty for you to drool over, my favourite is the Lead Sled!. Don Garlits himself is sometimes onsite for photo opportunities. A gift shop allows you to get a souvenir of your... More

After passing past this museum literally dozens of times during our FL travels we finally stopped in to attend as there was a car show occurring at the same time. Ultra impressive! It isn't just about drag racing either. The collection of classic and muscle cars is incredible, from a '35 Ford Phaeton to a Plymouth Superbird. Just a load... More

There are two museums (one price): the Museum of Classic Autos & the Museum of Drag Racing. Although I was initially interested in the classic cars, the drag racing museum was just as good. The museum is just off I-75 at Ocala. Be sure and watch the video "Close Calls" before touring the drag racing museum. It tells Big Daddy... More

Took my son on a recent trip on the way back to the Orlando area and had a great time. Admittedly, we are not necessarily car people but this was well worth the price of admission as the history is incredible. A museum where you can spend as much time as desired and a good side trip when near the... More

Its cost $15 dollars to enter this unassuming little museum but that was the best $15 dollars i spent all holiday. There are basically three main rooms in the main museum which contain all manner of famous dragsters, funny cars, bikes, engines, etc etc etc , you simply cannot believe the amount of famous machinery on display, hundreds of vehicles, each...
