4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014 NEW

We visited on July 2nd. My family drove over from Daytona Beach for a short day trip. I knew of the boats from my childhood, and I wanted to share the experience with my own children. The place has a lot of history and a nostalgic feel to the grounds by the glass bottom boats. Reading a plaque on the... More

Very educational. Professional staff know a lot about the area and were able to give detailed explainations of the surrounding environment.

We had our own kayak and put in at Rays Wayside Park. The park was very clean and accessible - including two bathroom areas, picnic tables, playground for the kids, two very nice boat ramps, one kayak ramp, staging areas to get your boat/kayack ready to launch -- and it is patrolled for safety. It is just a short paddle... More

Called the silver springs reservation center to rent 7 kayaks on July 3rd. First. You must listen to a 3 min commercial for the springs ( hit 1 ) to avoid. It turns out you cannot make reservation even if you a willing to pay in advance and rent for the day. Next I wanted to go early in the... More

This was a very pleasant and pretty easy kayaking experience. We saw many alligators, turtles and a variety of birds. we heard the monkeys chattering but did not get to see them. Overall a very pleasant experience and only $21 for 2 hours but you can stay longer for $7/hour more.

Took the glass boat ride. Awesome scenery, both above and especially under water. Informative tour guide. Walked a little around the park and enjoyed it. The boat ride was surpricingly moderadely priced.

I kayaked the springs twice on a recent trip to Central Florida. The scenery is amazing and I liken the experience to a theme park attraction. Paddling through the clear springs with turtles and fish (mullet perhaps) swimming underneath would make for an enjoyable trip on it's own but when you consider all the other wildlife and vegetation it is... The wildlife was incredible. We put our kayaks in at the park and made our way to Ray's Park (end of trip - approx. 5 1/4 miles). The current was strong enough to allow for a float trip if you do not wish to paddle. We saw several gators (3' to 9'). Turtles were everywhere as well as cranes, ibis,... More
