Visited for the first time about a week ago. Very impressed with all the shells, I couldn't believe all the different things they make with them. This place has everything from a game room for kids, large taxidermy animals, fossils, greeting cards, a large room of Christmas items, jewelry section, a US Post Office, a Subway sandwich store, candy store... This is an old fashioned Florida attraction that has been around for decades. Enjoy it on two levels. One, it's a fun place for the kids. The main building is free and takes about 2 hours to tour. They have a pirate room with an animated pirate (my grandson loved it!), an expansive exhibit of real stuffed animals that is... More

They have a lot of interesting shells here. However, all the items are overpriced. It is basically a tourist trap. Interesting to go through and see all the stuff though. I liked the golf cart decorated with sea shells. It's worth going and looking even though we didn't buy anything. We didn't do the animal park. Every Tuesday, Friday &... More

The Shell Factory store itself is cute for an afternoon of fun for family. The stuff is overpriced, but what do you expect for a gift shop. We didn't do the animal park, but from reading some of these reviews it's probably a good thing we didn't. The place is rather gross overall and run-down but it also is in... More

I have been going to the Shell Factory since I was a little girl! If it were just the store it would be fine...bit if you venture into the nature park it is disgusting. Get your tetanus shot first! They need to get rid of the animals or put more money into taking care of them!

This place is a throwback to the days when US 41 was the main thoroughfare - vs. I-75. I've been here a half-dozen times over the last 10 years, and my kids (now aged 18 and 13) still like it - as much as they did at age 9 and age 4. Here's what draws us back: - Wide variety... More

If your looking for shells, this is the place. Remember that a lot of it is overpriced junk, and many of the shells are not from the area. Lots of stuff to see, very nice Christmas area, jewellery, nic nacs, and lots of junkie souvenirs, Games area, Taxidermy animals which need freshened up. They offer a outdoor nature park which... We have been here before but wanted to try the new zip line. The zip line is like a 2 person ski lift which goes backwards to the top of the pole which was higher than it appears from the ground. It was a nice rush but would not pay the $8.50 to do it again.

You never know what you will find at the Shell factory. You also get to see a great display of stuffed/mounted animals. Sea shells of all kinds and all the nic-naks you can handle. They also have a Christmas room year round.

This is old style tourist Florida. I have been going since I was a kid, and finally got to take my daughter! You can still get your own pearl and have it made into a jewelry, get ice cream and of course buy any type of Florida souvenir that you can imagine. You can even get your picture in the... More
