Captain John took us out spur of the moment when our other tour was a no show. We went to Cayo Costa state park through a tropical path and did some great shelling with John's help! The beach there is beautiful. On the way there and back we saw dolphin, eagles, osprey and lots of other wildlife. Great tour!! Would... More

This is the very best fishing charter we have ever been on - by far, and we've been on quite a few. Captain John knows exactly where to go to get the fish! There was a point where every single cast resulted in a fish on! It was the best day of fishing. After, Captain John filets your catch and... More

This was our second time out with John. He's professional, friendly, and patient with younger anglers. Patient with older rookie Pine Island casters like me. The tide was so low I thought we would not catch anything, but John took us to a spot where we immediately starting hitting sea trout. We caught several for one heck of a meal... More

This is a must do! Everything you would look for in a guide. We did a sight seeing and shelling excursion, but will do fishing our next trip. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Captain John had us on the fish early and often! The four of us must have caught 15 fish a piece with 7 total keepers. John was always ready to bait the hooks and tell us where to cast. We told him our goal was dinner for 12 and he made it happen for us. He filleted the fish perfectly... More

You never know what you're going to get when you shell out big bucks for a service far from home, that you book from a website without a personal recommendation. Well, let me assure you, if you are in that boat, that Native Guides and Captain John Houston is the absolute best! John took me, my wife, my eleven-year-old daughter... More

John Houston is an excellent guide. He took my mother, my 10 year old son, and me on a great trip for lunch to cabbage key ( of jimmy Buffett "cheeseburger in Paradise" fame) and then on to shelling at Cayo Costa state park. He was great with my son, helping him fish and showing him how to dive for... More

Our group of four adults did a 4 hour afternoon boat excursion with Captain John. The boat was equipped with a cooler and ice for our beverages. We started out of the marina and Capt John pointed out a manatee as we were leaving. Then it was off to snorkel/shell/sightsee and have lunch at Cabbage Key. John is clearly very... More

We visited Sanibel Island in April and really enjoyed our boat tour with Captain John. He not only was a wonderful, knowledgable guide, but he was also personable and fun. My twin teenage sons enjoyed talking to him and learning from him, as did I. He took us to different places to catch different types of fish, and even called... More

The front-desk at our hotel recommended "Native Guides" when we asked about snorkeling. Captain Johnny took us snorkeling, shelling and wildlife spotting (dolphins and manatees). Reservations required. We called two days ahead and booked a 3 hour tour. They provided snorkeling equipment. We brought (soft) drinks and sandwiches in a small cooler (which I would recommend you do too). Our... More
