Beautiful spot on the island. The little cemetery is very beautiful. There is a lot of history on the island and it is well preserved. Worthy of a stop during your stay.

We visited the cemetery first, very interesting to look at how old some of the stones are. We walked back to the chapel, It is closed for the season but would have loved to see inside it.

A really very peaceful place, with a beautiful vegetation surrounding the place. It can be a nice stop if you are visiting the island. You will feel you are close to heaven here for the unique setting.

I had attended a service at the Chapel many years ago. Now it's closed/off season (May). The hike through the cemetery, though, was a first. What an interesting bit of history! In fact, I went to McIntosh's Book Store on Periwinkle afterward to purchase a book on the history of the islands. Cemetery stones and adornments are quite unique. The... More

Having visited the huge ornate cathedrals in St Augustine it was a contrast to visit this simple, white chapel by the sea situated in a garden setting. We did not attend a service, but appreciated the interior and exterior; including the garden area. It was nice that it was open to the public. We will plan to attend a service... More

Great music and great Easter message! The outside seating was in the shade and they made you feel really welcomed! The Captiva Fire Department was on hand to assist any people in need! Very Nice!

Lucky to be here right before Christmas and joined in the Caroling at Chapel by the Sea, all decorated inside and out, and the service was packed, many sat outside. It was simply lovely, Hot cider was served outdoors after the service. Just a lovely way to celebrate the Christmas before the actual day.

Our first visit was at night and it was beautiful decorated for Christmas. We returned next morning and also toured the historical cemetery on site. So quaint and beautiful.
