Worth a visit to the MDC. Free monthly public lectures , kayak and boat tours, oyster bagging events and many more ongoing projects for you to use up some spare time and volunteer. Many children's activities and even a touch tank of little critters! MDC is known for protecting and restoring Florida coastal and Indian River Lagoon.

We visited this (new to us) exhibit and had a very knowledgeable docent who explained all of the displays. The MDC has a wonderful program and is free.

We had a couple of days that were rainy so we looked for things to do. We found this and decided to take a tour. The boat ride was awesome and our guides were so personable. I would recommend this.

They offer a two hour pontoon ride that was reasonable priced. We were on board and there was lightning so trip cancelled and got our money back. Disappointed because would have been so informative and fun to do! The Center has all sorts of live ocean critters to see and reasonable trinkets!

The passionate folks who work and volunteer at the Marine Discovery Center are knowledgeable and are genuinely interested in educating visitors on the local complex ecosystems and marine life. The guides draw from their Florida Master Naturalist curriculum and weave their personal experience throughout all activities offered.

A little out of the way, when we discovered the discovery center, what we found was quaint. I'm sure they are nice folk and they seem to run a good business. Once per day boat tours were not what we were expecting or interested in.

I thought I was going to the museum located at the light house, but GPS brought us here. I think I got the names mixed up. I didn't even know this place existed. So it was relatively small. 2 rooms of small tanks of random sea creatures. Our docent didn't know a lot of answers to our questions, but was... More

We did a 2pm tour on a very hot day. We did see lots of Dolphins at the beginning and near the end of the tour. We saw some interesting birds, their nests and babies. But the rest of the tour was a little boring with not much to see but vegetation. Captain Scott and Tracey were very helpful and knowledgeable.... More

Small but very educational and totally free! Very cute and cheap jewelry and small souvenirs. It's just one small room but plenty to do,they do offer canoe tours as well .
