We heard about the MDC through word of mouth. It is a free. They offer eco boat tours, I highly recommend. I took to boat trips and this was the best by far. It is 2 hours and there was so much education and photo opportunities. We saw lots of dolphin and a manatee too.

Lots of interesting things for kids to learn about our ecosystem, plus a nice relaxing dolphin tour. Worth the small price.

MDC has nice exhibits and cool gift shop. I volunteer here as often as I can. They have Eco-cruises daily, which I Highly recommend. MDC is dedicated to educating everyone about our lagoon, wildlife and ecosystem. Lots of ways to volunteer here as well.

Prepare to spend anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour here. Really geared towards children ages 4-teens. Lots of hand on things to look at. They have live crabs in tanks where you can touch and hold. Wish this place would expand, it would be a huge attraction for this small area.

Our plan was to go to the dolphin discovery boat trip at 2:00 p.m. It was full so we had to go on the 4:15 one. Where you buy tickets and where you board the boat are two different locations so keep that in mind and go a bit early. We sat in the front seats which were a bit... More

Most people come here for the beach, but THIS is a side of New Smyrna that is a different world. Mangroves, oyster beds, osprey, manatees, and more... What a beautiful couple of hours we had today, on a comfortable pontoon boat tour! Knowledgable and fun tour guide and captain. My only complaint is that every seat was full, so that... More

The dolphin boat tour is fantastic. The guides saw manatees right as we were about to launch. The boat followed the manatees so we could all see. Afterward, they began the regular tour. They stopped anytime we wanted to see something and answered all questions. They were very knowledgeable and informative. This is a great way to spend an afternoon... More

The guide on the dolphin tour was awesome. We were able to see and learn about much of the native wildlife in the Indian river. Super peaceful.

This 2hr narrated tour of the intercoastal waterway was great! Saw a manatee and a bottle nose dolphin and lots of pelicans and baby pelicans. Tour is on a covered pontoon boat. Very relaxing and water is smooth. Very safe and well maintained. Great for all ages. Guide and captain are very friendly and knowledgeable. Buy tickets at Marine Discovery... More
