We visited Naples in August 2013 for an anniversary getaway. It was nice to be up close to the animals. We enjoyed the boat ride, where we were able to see the monkeys up close. We were able to feed the giraffes. Coming from Miami, it was different coming to a small zoo but this was the closest we'd ever... More

I've been visiting this place, under one name or another, for nearly 50 years. This "Tropical Garden" was originally founded in 1919 by botanist Dr. Henry Nehrling. By the time I first stumbled upon it as a boy, it was owned by Julius Fleischmann and known as "The Caribbean Gardens." Then, in 1969, it was leased from the Fleischmann estate... More

Went to the zoo with my family on a hot day. The zoo was pricy and the staff was not friendly. The show was boring. The zoo had a lot of Mosquitos. I would definitely not go back. It was not fun and I ended with tons of mosquito bites.

We visited in August and got there around 2pm. It was hot and humid. There were lots of mosquitoes and we got bit up quite a bit. If you go wear bug spray. There is lots of shade as you walk the trail which is good. We wanted to feed the giraffes and got there a few minutes after 3... More

I was in Naples in 2002 and the zoo was pretty sad. I now live in Naples and it has been transformed into a great place for the size of the city. Well worth a visit.

The Naples Zoo is not enormous but there's still plenty to do. If you were to do one thing here, go to the safari canyon shows. There is one show time during the summer and a few shows during the rest of the year, but they are not identical and have different animals at each one. So you technically see... More

There is a lake in the center of the park so they offer educational boat rides and one can see the animals who are on the islands tour stresses conservation which is great. However I did speak to staff regarding the leopards there does not appear to be sufficient activities for them one was pacing

We love this little zoo and have been visiting since it was Jungle Larry's. Some of the gardens are still present and were a nice chance to take a walk through the shade and see one of the original Toucan signs. Time your day around the "keeper" and "handler" talks!!! This gives the kids a chance to learn a lot... More
