Owner description: The 2.5 hour manatee viewing eco tour is the only local eco tour that starts in the heart of the Everglades, and takes only minutes to get to the 10,000 Islands and the Gulf of Mexico. The tour is located at the home of South Florida's largest herd of manatees. Viewing the eco system of the Everglades in the comfort of a covered boat is a true Everglades experience. You are likely to see manatees, alligators, dolphins, and turtles, as well as many species of rare and endangered tropical birds. Some of the tropical birds species are the Ibis, Egret, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Pelican, and the American Bald Eagle. The tour is fully narrated by knowledgeable local Captains and their boats are stable, comfortable and USCG approved. You'll learn interesting facts on the manatee, alligator, dolphin, and tropical bird species, along with information on the Everglades.

Excellent fishing experience, our captain Jim was the best. This was the 2nd time we went with the same captain. So much fun even if you don't catch much, captain Jim is very entertaining and knowledgeable. Will definitely be doing it again when back in the area.

Our family took the 2.5 hour eco tour, we learned a lot about the everglades and the animals that inhabit them, and we saw manatees, an alligator, many dolphins, and various types of birds (pelicans, herons, egrets, vultures, etc.). Our captains were on a mission to help us see as much as we could during the trip, it was evident... More

Through Groupon, we got a fantastic deal! We saw lots of birds, dolphins, and on the way back - Manatees. Captain Carl was very knowledgeable. We spend about 30 minutes on an island, picking seashells. Highly recommended! Just bring a light jacket along.

I took the 2.5 hr manatee eco tour in the morning, and it was nice and sunny. We saw a lot of manatees, but only their noses. They don’t come out of the water like dolphins do and can stay down for 20 min. The captain, I think his name was Mike, took his time and tried to get to... More

loved captain Jim. My 3 kids all caught so many fish, who have never fished before! There were even dolphins following our boat. Jim was so knowledgeable and engaged with our entire family. It's a must do attraction!

My brother in law booked a trip for the family as a new activity...it was great. Captain Jason was knowledgeable, friendly and his enthusiasm for the area, it's history and the beauty of its nature made it so much more than just a boat tour. We loved how he went out of his way to make sure we saw and... More

Every year I go on a fishing outing with my father-in-law and 2 boys in December. We had a great time on this trip. We fished around the islands and I really enjoyed the calmness. I learned more about fishing on this trip with Double R's Fishing Tour than trips in the past. We caught enough fish for a meal... More

We booked this trip based on stellar TripAdvisor reviews. Sadly, it was a disappointment for 6 family members at $450. Gary was our captain, not Jim nor Mike, associated with Double Rs in prior reviews. Our group caught maybe 1 lb of cleaned fish. Capt. Gary insisted that was to be expected for this time of year. (Or, maybe it... More

It's amazing to me that a competitor would stoop to this level in an attempt to tarnish our image. Prior to reporting this to Trip Advisor as a bogus review, let me address a few issues to make a point. We do not employ a Capt Gary as a charter FISHING guide. We do not own a skiff. We operate... My wife and I ventured out for a half day of fishing with Capt. Jimmy and Virginia this weekend and we had a great time. The fishing results didn't produce any of the "whoppers" my wife imagined before we left but we did come home with a catch big enough to feed us several nice dinners. Jimmy and Virginia are... More

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your trip certainly entailed a lot of action and positive results. Catching Tarpon and Jacks at the dock while Capt Jim is cleaning the catch is always a blast. Thank you for recognizing that running a quality service operation is extremely important to us. Hope to see you again... More
