This trip across Lake Dora and through the Dora Canal was absolutely wonderful. Took our California grandkids and their parents and they were amazed. Had a super captain and another young man who answered all kinds of questions, provided tremendous historical and wild life information, and made us laugh while we learned. Saw alligators, herons, soft-shelled turtles, brown river snakes,... More

We have lived in the area for ten years and have talked about taking this trip but never did until today. We took our relatives who are from Charleston and we all just loved it!!! Scott the Captain and Bob the tour guide were both great!!!! Bob was very knowledgeable of the area and pointed out all the great things... More

I was hesitant to go on this boat ride. I had seen gators before. Thankfully my friends won out and so did I by joining them on this adventure. The captain has years of experience on the lake and shares his stories throughout the excursion. The canopy is spectacular with all the Spanish moss hanging from century old Cypress trees.... More

Four of us boarded a large pontoon boat for a cruise on Lake Dora. It was a rather gray and chilly March day, but the captain and the tour guide provided blankets for anyone who wanted them and bottled water, as well. We took a scenic trip across the lovely lake, but the real treat was yet to come. We... More

Made a reservation for relatives visiting for one day. Rusty Anchor messed it up. We showed up earlier and they accommodated people who signed up after us and showed up after us. Made no effort to correct their error.

Leaves from the bottom of the hill at the dock near the Yacht Club in quaint little Mount Dora. The little town is even more beautiful from the water. In the late Winter and Spring you can see eagles nesting along the water's edge in the tall trees. Great for groups, couples and kids. Narrated tour points out all the... More

The Rusty Anchor is a nice way to see local birds and other critters while getting out on the water. A full 2 hours of sight seeing! Up close for good pictures, and knowledgeable Captain and crew.

Great rip and good value. Scott the captain was friendly and informative without being intrusive or pushy. The lake is beautiful and the Dora canal is intriguing, tranquil and eerie all at the same time.

This wasn't as entertaining as I expected. The canal portion was interesting but I wouldn't call it beautiful. Some wildlife...part of the canal is thru a trailer park. Boat was clean. I wouldn't hurry back....however I love Mt.Dora. Take the horse drawn carriage ride instead!

The boat tour was two hours. We went through Lake Dora to the Dora Canal. The canal is like going back in time to old Florida. Lots of wildlife, turtles, birds, alligators and more. Nice, relaxing way to spend the day.
