This was an excellent tour with loads of interesting facts and a great atmosphere. The tour guide and captain we're professional and fun with great music to liven the atmosphere. It is approximately two thirds on the water which is cooler and great for looking at expensive houses. Highly recommended.

My family and I enjoyed this tour of Miami while we were there before a cruise. I really expected it to be corny and something the kids would only enjoy. To my surprise it was really nice. The kids loved the fact that one min we were on the street and the next we were floating in the water. I... More

We only had two days in Miami and took the Duck Tour to see some of the sights. It was good fun with a really up beat tour guide who seemed more like a DJ than a tour guide but he knew his facts and he was really entertaining. It was a great way to spend two hours.

Momma_Duck1:

Your response is an insult to any intelligent person considering getting on a duck tour. You are just dodging a clear answer because in all honesty, you could not tell anybody that your duck tour actually gets even close to Star Island. it is obvious that no one would expect your vessel to actually dock at Star Island during the water portion of the tour. I doubt any millionaire resident would find that amusing. Your vague response that you actually go BY Star Island maybe needs further clarification from you. What I saw with my own eyes is that your duck tour goes by another island (Hibiscus Island) and your guide shamelessly points out one home on the corner of Star Island at a far distance. Your captain then makes a U-turn and every body misses out on the most beautiful homes, and the highlight of every other boat tour in Miami: Star Island. You short and sad water route, compared to the other options, is not what any intelligent person would expect when told that they will see Star Island. You are lying to your customers and engaging in false advertisement. Unfortunately for you, I went on both your tour, the South Beach Duck Tour and the Miami Pirate Duck Tours. And I took notes. The experience could not have been more contrasting. I think people should know that your tour DOES NOT get even close to Star Island. Even your tour guides are aware and ashamed when confronted with the facts and I pointed out to them the very visible red and white Pirate Trolley Duck going right next to Star Island. It was pathetic. They made all kinds of apologies but ultimately acknowledged your hydraterra vehicles were so old and slow that it would take forever if they ever attempted to match the route the faster, jet driven Pirate Trolley Duck takes on every tour. Yes, you got me and my friends very disappointed and upset and ultimately I felt ripped off when on your tour not only I paid more but I was shown probably half the nice homes that I saw on the Pirate Duck Tour. Your incredible false and sorry excuse that your old and decrepit hydraterra ducks do not get near Star Island due to Coastguard restrictions is also a blatant lie. Since you bring up the Coastguard keeping an eye on your route, if I was the Coastguard I would be more concerned with the condition of your ducks. They definitely appear to be literally held together with "duck tape", barely running and with constant breakdowns according to my own research and asking around. On both experiences we clearly saw many other boats with tourists going just as close to Star Island as the Pirate Duck Tour. It seems the only water tour that is unable to get near Star Island is the South Beach Duck Tour. Is that a coastguard regulation or you just have to lie to people in order to get them aboard your tour? Your claim that the much more modern and efficient Trolley Ducks carry half the passengers that your old hydraterras is also FALSE. Hydraterras: 49, Trolley Ducks: 40. Does taking more passengers make for a better duck tour experience? I did my homework. One common complaint about your ducks is that people are packed like sardines, the floors get very hot and "comfortable" has not been used anywhere in any of your trip advisor comments. I experienced that myself. I am of average built and my knees on your seats were rubbing and pressed against the front seat all through the experience. Not fun. Your boats are 40 feet long. The trolley boats are 38. However, the Trolleys carry 40 passengers and you cram 49 poor souls in yours in the interest of revenue. I will tell you that the seats and legroom on the Trolley Boats was far better and I felt much more relaxed on that tour. Day and night as far as the overall experience. Aside from the more comfortable seats, the newer Trolley Ducks are quieter and do no fill up the passenger area with the obnoxious fumes like we experienced in the back of your boat. Even more insulting than your response is the fact that you somehow manage to demand more money for your ticket ($32 plus tax) while showing way less in vehicles that in my opinion should have been retired from service a long time ago. I paid $25 to go on the Pirate Trolley Duck and I can tell you that it makes a big difference when a company takes its passengers in a brand new, latest generation half a million dollar vehicle or a $75,000 vehicle that is a hands down from previous operators that went out of business. You and your staff can continue to lie and try to stay in business without investing in your products, but the beauty of this country is that eventually those that do not invest in better services, vehicles or provide a better value, are flushed down and taken out of business by the more competent and responsible operators. I love duck tours and visit them anywhere I find them all over the world. You suggest that we should patronize your friends if I was looking for speed. How about we do not worry about speed since nobody expects a duck tour to be a thrill ride and instead we start by expecting honesty from you and your staff? You are a disgrace to other duck tour operators and should know that if you keep abusing your customers like you did to me and my family, people will keep favoring your competition. I hope other readers find my information useful and correct me if any of my statements is inaccurate or add their own experience if different from mine. Have a ducky day!
