We take you on a journey of discovery as we show you the hidden secrets and gems that our wonderful city has to offer. All tours are personalized to give you the ultimate historic, architectural and greenspace experience -- as well all the 'back stories' from Al Capone to Miami Vice and Versace. Marty and Paula are happy to meet you at your South Beach hotel (or other convenient location) to begin your tour, and will work with any special logistical issues, such as going to/coming from a cruise ship, so that you can experience first hand what makes Miami Beach the art deco capital of the world -- even if you have limited time. We are a full service walking tour company (for groups from 2, 4, 6 to large community groups) and will also advise on local picks for great restaurants & hotels to make your time in our 'slice of paradise' as perfect as it can be. We strive to delight our clients and each of our tour reviews shows we are meeting that goal! « less

May 2011 we met Marty Mueller when we did the Art Deco tour on the Ocean Drive. We enjoyed it so much, that we decided to mail Marthy for our trip in May 2012. We asked him what kind of tour should be a nice follow up. He suggested to do a different tour, focusing on the later Art Deco... More

We love to guide Dutch visitors along Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road, and these were delightful return clients who come to Florida every spring, and write an excellent blog back home for their Dutch friends to follow their adventures here (http://medemaatjes2.blogspot.com/2011/06/dag-6.html). We make sure to point out to Dutch clients the Netherlands Hotel on Ocean Drive (named after the famous... More

Knowing next to nothing about Art Deco (or architecture in general) we decided on this tour solely based on the excellent reviews and our desire to learn some of the history of South Beach. Our vacation included a couple of days in Florida followed by a cruise through the Panama Canal and up the west coast to Vancouver. The afternoon... More

I've reviewed Art Deco Walks before, but took a new one of the New World Symphony with the proprietor Marty Mueller -- NOT part of his Art Deco schtick but something equally worthwhile. This building is an event in itself that is totally redefining symphony performances in the world. S.eek it and find it while you are in South Beach.... More

Marty and Paula love repeat clients who enjoyed their first Art Deco tour so much that they came back to explore some of South Beach's spectacular 21st century architecture. This client took the Urban Landscapes tour and was blown away by the Gehry New World Symphony building, which is located on the eastern end of Lincoln Road Mall. The Gehry-designed... More

Went on the Art Deco walking tour with 4 other ladies on a weekend getaway. I've been to South Beach a few times before but this is the first time I've gone on a walking tour and I wish I did it the first time I was here. Gives you a greater appreciation for South Beach and its rich architectural... More

The key word in your review title for us is "fun" -- there so much to see, do, and learn in South Beach, and we want you to have fun while you're doing it. Marty and Paula know you are on vacation (even if you are here for business, when you are with us, it's vacation time!) and we know... More

As an architect, I must say this tour was a great way to start a visit to Miami Beach. Marty's tour will give you an understanding of the "what and why" of Art Deco architecture, rather than a simple building by building account. You will come out of this with the knowledge to be your own "architectural critic" and an... More

We took a tour with Marty on our recent weekend in Miami Beach. As avid art deco lovers, we were hoping for an insight on the heritage, as well as a walk around all the key sights - with such a short amount of time, it was key for us to get the most out of the weekend. We had... More

Marty and Paula love to guide our visitors from Down Under (esp. those en route to Barbados!) through South Beach's Art Deco wonderland, because they bring such a solid knowledge base with them to our slice of paradise. Australia has many surviving examples of Art Deco architecture. Among the most notable are 'mini-skyscrapers', such as the Grace Building (Sydney) and... More

I was in South Beach for a girls' weekend and took the tour with Marty on 4/27. We had a fantastic time. He was very knowledgeable, fun and incredibly accommodating when we asked him to snap our photos. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this tour More

Art Deco Walks with Marty and Paula loves to provide custom tours - either a special time of day/evening, a special route, a special emphasis, or a tour starting/ending at a restaurant or local watering hole for your group to continue their festivities. I loved this tour. Marty is so knowledgable about Miami and its incredible history that there wasn't a dull moment. He keeps the pace up the whole time and makes it fun and informative at the same time. Our family of four all loved it. We learned just the right amount about art deco so that now we can remember...
