James provided us with an interesting and lively tour of the Art Deco section of Miami Beach. The history of Miami (good and bad) covering from its beginning to the present day was interweaved into the walking tour. Impressive access to hotels and bars that the person on the street wouldn't have.

Calvin Zook is a tourist guide treasure! He has 50 years living in Miami and loves to explain the history of the city, the Art Deco scene and many of the important people. We did the walking tour and then the next day did the tour in an antique car (another great choice). Given the option we would have done... More

James was TERRIFIC! Knowledgeable, passionate and great narrator. I learned to love Art Deco. He made the buildings come alive.

Researching what to do in Miami as a first time visitor can be confusing as there is so much to offer. After much research I chose The Art Deco tour based on reviews. On the day, we raced the Astor hotel as our ship took forever to clear. Calvin, our guide was calm and made us laugh from the minute... More

I rarely branch out to take in the sites when I travel on business and this walking cocktail tour was worth breaking away from my hotel room and computer. James led us through five hotels with signature cocktails. He was full of lots of history, quirky facts and thoroughly entertaining. Worth every minute.

This was an excellent tour of Miami Beach. Our tour lasted approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and there were only 7 people plus our guide, Calvin. As a resident of Miami Beach for the past 8 years I see these hotels frequently however I never really knew the history and architecture behind them. Calvin was entertaining and fun. I... More

Many reviews highlight the great tour you'll have with Calvin so I wont repeat them. I'll add however that he is utterly 'authentic', a half century locally-living 'native' exuding decades of the south beach vibe. When he says he "saw it all", it's believable..... and he does a great job of making it come alive. In a world of mundane... More

Our guide was Calvin and we met him at Hotel Astor to begin our tour. We really enjoyed the tour with Calvin. It definitely met all our goals - informative, flowing, fun and memorable tour. The private tour was nice and personalized and Calvin was the man to tour with. It seemed like he knew everyone and it almost felt... More

Our tour guide James was excellent. I don't know if every tour guide personalizes the tour, i.e. which buildings they visit, but our tour highlighted excellent examples of Art Deco design. James fit so much information in two hours it was astounding. It was a whirlwind of highly interesting facts, history, stories and anecdotes. It's hard to imagine how this... More
