When we showed up at the MDPL shop around 10 in the morning and asked for the MP3 players to do a walking tour at our own rythm (using also some documents I had checked before for extra information), the lady simply refused to rent the MP3 players to us and literally obliged us to take the guided tour, telling... more

My husband and I did the walking tour of South Beach at 10:30am the first day we were in South Beach. It was very informational, and a great way to get a feel for the city and learn about Art Deco. Our tour was about two hours long and well worth the cost (around $20). more

March 15 2009 Sunday at 10:30 am my husband and I lucked into the Walking Art Deco Tour. The Welcome center was a bit hard to find, for it is a gift shop on a side street. OUR Tour Guide's name is Scott Timm. What a fantastic tour guide and what a wonderful 90 minute+ tour of South Beach. This... more

We took this tour in Dec 2008 with Art Deco Welcome Center and went at night (given Thursdays), which I definitely recommend. We had already walked the area in the daytime and seen the buildings. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and really customized the tour to what the group wanted to see/know (although he had a list of buildings he... more

The tour was a two hour long walking tour and very enjoyable. Really enjoyed learning about the architecture and colorful history of the area from a local's perspective (the woman who gave the tour grew up on South Beach and was excellent.) It's wonderful that this important historic district has been saved so that we can all enjoy it today.... more

We did this tour on Sunday 15th June 2008 - 10:30, it was excellent and highly informative. A group of about 15 people, guide only spoke when stopped so no one missed any of the information. It took about 1.5 - 2 hours and cost $20 per person. Note the starting location has moved as they are refurbishing their building... more

The Art Deco Walking Tour is a must see part of your South Beach experience. The tour guides are volunteers but they obviously love what they are doing and they are very knowledgeable about the history of the are and about the history of this style of architecture. Knowing the history of the buildings made all the difference in my... more

This morning my wife and I joined a group for a guided tour provided by the Miami Design Preservation League. I am sure that there are other tours, but only this one can be considered the most authentic. Afterall, the preservation of the Art Deco District of Miami Beach - all 800 Buildings - is due to the four decades... more

We took the tour in March, led by a volunteer guide who was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He clearly loved showing off this unique area. Although scheduled for ninety minutes, the tour was closer to two hours. Although not a problem for us, there was a fair amount of walking. I think the tour would not interest young children. The guide... more

I was in Miami with my family, we took the Art Deco Tour. The ipod broke, and the one my wife was carrying had information that was outdated and in the wrong order. The company would not refund our money, and claimed they were not responsible for electronic problems.. Nice way to spend a day on vacation. This is not... more
