Two beautiful old synogogues combined into a museum. Great pictures and interesting history of the Jewish community in Miami Beach in the early years. More

Sorry guys having grown up as a Christian in a predominantly Jewish area and having all Jewish friends, I have taken a special interest in the plight of the European Jews and having visited, Belsen and others concentration camps to show my respect and struggle to understanding the holocaust. You can spend few hours or half a day going thru all the depicted artifacts and pictures displayed in this museum. Florida's history of the jewish population is well shown and the staff is very helpful. The building is an old synagogue redone into a museum and expanded. The Jewish Museum of Florida (Ziff has no connection with it) presents changing programs throughout the year with it's focus on the history of the jewish people in Florida. jews used to be restricted to living south of 5th St. in Miami Beach. They created a vibrant community there.
