We visited the welcome center to get the self-guided walking tour, which was very enjoyable. It's a roughly hour or so stroll around SOBE, with a mini-iPod like device and headset, with interesting information. There's also a guided tour every day at 10:30, I believe. The "museum" in the center is very small, but worth a few minutes visit if... More

It is a lot of fun to go for one of their free movie nights. There are some nice exhibits of Art Deco objects and a cute gift shop too.

The welcome centre, museum and gift shop are well set up. Staff are ready to help with any information. The museum behind has many photos that describe the area and its history and the gift shop is fun.

A good generalized short history of South Beach Architecture by an enthusiastic guide. If you have the time, and want some history of the 20's through to present, suggest you go. Walking shoes required.

Paul, our tour guide gave us the history of the Art Deco period at the very beginning so that we would understand what we were looking at. The tour was very interesting and informative, moved at a comfortable pace, and covered the various types of architecture. Our guide was very well informed and gave an exceptional tour. Don't miss it.... More

Cool, little shop with posters, books and other curios featuring Miami Beach's Art Deco history and buildings. Check it out.

I know it was during the festival, but the people in the Welcome center did not seem friendly. We got a pointed "May I help you?" Apparently my husband's water bottle offended. My question as to the location of bathrooms was answered tersely. No seating excepts for the ""Don't sit on" exhibits

Took the self guided audio tour that originates in the Art Deco welcome center. More information on architecture than local history and fun facts. Felt like I could have pulled info off of the Internet, taken my own tour and saved 20 bucks.

Wonderful resource to use while in Miami Beach. Offers info, tours, a gift shop, a museum and $1.00 bottles of cold water right on the beach. Friendly people and your support goes to preserve the iconic architecture.
