I have been to many museums all over the world - this one is definitely on the smaller side. Their current exhibit was trash- art from Ghana - which was absolutely stunning - the time invested in building the artwork definitely deserves a round of applause. Loved the coffins with Egyptian mummies - how amazing to preserve a human for... More

The current Vanitas exhibit motivated me to leave the beach and get some culture! The exhibit is tiny, but incredible. They have interesting pieces throughout the museum and even a mummy. Well worth the $8 entrance fee. Limited hours- 12P-5P.

When I was living in Miami I prepared a "Cultural Agenda" that included some museums, gardens and art galleries. The Bass Museum of Art was one of them and, incidentally, was the first place I visited. I originally though the museum was small and the collection was too diverse for my taste, but when I visited other museums in the... More

This may be a nice museum but don't even try to drive to see it. There is NO parking anwhere around the museum. The web site says there is a small parking lot. Only has about 12 space that I saw no moment in turning over. After driving around the area for 20 minutes I gave up and left.

Nice small museum. There are several exhibits on a variety of topics, including mummies and modern art.

An odd mix of things. We spend about an hour looking around and the ticket price was fair value for money. Would have liked to have seen more.

The Bass Museum is a small museum with an impressive collection. If you are in South Beach take a break from the sun and the hectic pace and chill out at he Bass Museum. They always have something interesting and the collection is very diverse-from 13th century religious painting to contemporary funky artists. It's worth a visit.

A bit of an odd mish mash of classic fine art and modern art. it doesn't really hang together - in any sense - but good to get a bit of culture on South Beach

It's OK if you're an art fan, or if you're not expecting to visit an art museum in a place where substance is not that important. This museum can be visited in less than an hour, and it has quite a nice Flemish Art collection to keep you interested.
