Fisher Island is a ferry ride across Government Cut - where the Port of Miami cruise ships exit and enter Miami. A very busy waterway minutes from South Beach...yet once you arrive...you are in paradise. Beautiful condos, homes, country club, beach, marina, restaurants and market. The main restaurant has one of the best chefs in the country! Life of the... More

You can't go on this island because it is a gated community but we rented a boat and we rode around the island there are much nicer homes in the area than I saw on Fisher island.

Why does Trip Advisor request a review of Fisher Island?! It's for millionaires only. Visitors can't go there.

The privacy and the serenity of this private island while minutes away from famous South Beach make this island a great place to live. Real Estate prices are cheaper than all of the very high end buildings in South Beach. Worth the time if you are considering a high end condo.

Liked the exclusivity of the island and being away from the hustle and bustle of Miami beach. Dislike you can't use any money at the restaurant or bar - if the member is not presently with you…you are stuck and can't order anything.

Well, it's pretty and all, and the ferry ride there is fun, but if you're not rolling, you might as well just drive on by. We visited for a party that was held there --the party was nice and the food was excellent, but as for the island, it just wasn't into us. When we went to the spa to... More

Interesting visit but not totally enthralling and younger children would not appreciate it. I find it embarrassing for the tour guides to ask you to tip them.

It's an island you need a ferry to get to, and it's beginning to look a lot like any other part of Miami with mid height high rises under construction on a smallish area to begin with. Nice to know some famous people once lived there but that about it. Look at it from the new pier or take a... More

Fisher Island is the only truly "private" place in Miami. There are several restaurants on the island and all are exceptionally good. The beach club has great lunch choices at a VERY reasonable price. PortoCervo is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Miami.
