This is a thank you for a job well done once again to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. This year was my third trip to their Day Out With Thomas event with my daughters and son. Each year they do a great job and it is by far the most affordable event as we also attended the other one near... More

The museum has the Presidential Rail Car, U.S. Number 1, train rides, great for kids; photographers that are looking to enjoy their craft the had recently added an evening shooting, after hours you are able to capture different images with the sunset light. If you are a working professional you can pre-arrange for after hours shooting. They have an area... More

I recently visited the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami and had a very pleasant surprise. Among their many historic trains and engines is the Presidential Railcar Ferdinand Magellan. This is a really amazing piece of history which has been recently restored with grant money. This was the famous train Truman and President Roosevelt used in World War Two. I... More

First of all, the nice thing - everybody is a volunteer there; however, you cannot distinguish who is who (that is, volunteer or visitor). We suggest the volunteers to wear an identification t-shirt a cap and blue jeans. Secondly, the place has lots of nice trains; however, they are extremely (and unnecessarily) dirty and smelly - a little baking soda... More

Took my grandson here. We both loved it. You get to climb into many old cars, even the Presidential one. Great place for a photo shoot also.

We attended last week on the last day of the exhibit, March 17th. We knew that the Thomas the Train and friends expo was held for 3 weekends straight, and we went on St. Patrick's Day as a 'lucky' treat for our littlest 2 boys of the 5 children. First review off: the people at the Train Museum were very... More

I happened to be here on Presidents Day, which made seeing the Pullman that FDR, HST, and DDE (as well as Ronald Reagan one time) used a special event. The presidential car is the highlight, but for anyone with even a marginal interest in trains, the CGRM is definitely worth a stop. You can walk through several of the preserved/restored... More

I recently saw a South Florida Parenting Magazine article praising the Gold Coast Railroad Museum as the best children’s museum in Miami. I attended the museum last weekend with my two young boys and it is by far the best children’s venue I have ever been to. They have a marvelous children’s Thomas the Tank Engine play area and I... The museum seems to have fallen on hard times. Gold Coast Railroad Museum was an awful experience. Dirty, unstaffed, dangerous. The place should be condemned. Rusted trains, moldy interiors, many of the trains were taped off with crime scene tape to keep people away. For good reason. Model trains did not work in model train exhibit room. The lights were... Jujukos, Thank you for your review of our property. While your review of the property is negative, what you highlight is what some people want. The Gold Coast Railroad Museum was founded in 1957. At the time, we had about 5 pieces of railroad equipment. From 1957 to even today, we are still a completely independent non-profit organization. We recieve... More

We went here last minute and it had closed at 4:00 but the young gentleman let us look around quickly. I wish we would have made it in time because it is a very interesting place. It has a lot of little areas for your kids to play. I would recommend it.
